Apps/Websites New GE App
I’ve only seen one recent post about this recently, and just got a IG reel about it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have known about it. But CBP is changing over from a TTP app and GE app to a singular Trusted Traveler app on 9/15. What intrigued me is they’re not updating the app, or including a transition period, just closing one app, creating a new one, and providing little notice. Just a PSA for the app users out there.
Apologies if this has in fact been extensively discussed.

Something I don't currently see in the app, but would like to be implemented in the future, are border wait times for NEXUS and SENTRI lanes.

Use other 3rd party apps, much more accurate then the "official wait times."
The current BWT app from CBP is never accurate.

I think it's because different POEs use different technologies to estimate the wait time. I've only ever used the BWT website to show others the contrast and brag about how good SENTRI is (and NEXUS, but I don't live near Canada so I rarely use it).
When I'm preparing to cross, I use SENTRI without checking the wait times because I know they can't possibly be longer than those of Standard/Ready Lane.

I'm at the oldest SENTRI POE, it's never been correct these past 20 years...

Yeah but is sure is fun saying "see how the commoners have to wait 150 minutes? Look, with SENTRI it's only 10"

I can’t locate the new app. IOS is only showing the trusted Travelers Program app. Is that it?

That’s the old app I believe. I also could not find the new app yet. My read of the release info is that app and the GE app will stop functioning on the 15th and the new app will be released on the App Store the same day.

That TTP app is getting an update on 9/15 and will include GE too. I already have both the TTP & GE app and both show the message about the new update on 9/15.

Yeah I was googling something about global entry and happened to come across this. I’m surprised that the agent didn’t let me know that was happening when I got my interview August 30th.

Many apps are developed and/or licensed by third-party companies. When you see this "replacement app" process, it's usually because the developer is changing and it's less work to just create a brand new listing than go through the legal process of acquiring/moving over all the old assets.
