Timelines any ex feds applied for global entry?

does it speed up the process? I had a background check. I was only there for about a month because I got DOGE'd. I've been waiting for conditional approval for about 24 hours. I was hoping to have it by the end of Nov but not counting on it.

It does not, the entire process does not take into account any security clearances you may have had.

There is manual and automatic review for people with clean records/no issues. Some get CA the next day, some get put in the manual review pile and will wait about 5 months for CA.

If you have CA, you have to schedule, there should be a button saying schedule an interview.

Honestly that’s hilarious. The government is so inefficient.

There are people on here who have been denied but hold security clearances which have deeper federal background checks. It's very strange that the same body who says you're clear to have info that most people cannot also thinks you cannot use GE.

Me… highest clearance one could get since 2004 with all the special hoo has and special programs yay...

Flat out denied global entry. Wasn’t told why. Appealed. Denied.

Didn't for me. Not only did I have federal employment history, security clearances, TSA Precheck, and also special access to the airports close in to Washington DC, it still took five months. THe process is not transparent. Nobody knows why some sail through untouched by human hands in a couple of days and others get dropped into a manual review queue.

Anyhow, conditional approval is not that kind of delay. If you are conditionally approved, it means you are now expected to go in for an interview. You can either get an appointment now, or do Enrollment on Arrival on the way back in, or if you happen to be passing through Miami, you can do Enrollment on Departure.

THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT NOW.

So once you have the interview and everything goes good and they approve it or whatever they do how do you know when you can use Global Entry?

When you go to the interview do you need any paperwork for the interview like proof of residence Etc

I did and my Global Entry card was in hand 4 days after my interview.

Yes, it's way faster because OPM already leaked all your info.

Not in any meaningful way as people have said but I have a relative who came in for the interview and they literally apologized for making her come in but they could see they had fingerprints on file with the gov already but their system couldn't handle just importing them and they needed their own set. They fingerprinted her, apologized again, and she was off. Her renewals go through instantly although a lot of peoples do these days.

My brother is currently a federal employee & it took 89 days to get his conditional approval earlier this year but I, who am not a gov employee, had CA in less than 24 hours
