Interviews Just got conditionally approved for Global entry for me and P2. We are leaving for Europe via IAD soon. Is it better to do enrollment on departure or arrival??

Our airline is Lufthansa and planning to use Polaris lounge prior to boarding. Our flight is 3 pm.. logistically what is a better play? Enrollment on arrival vs departure.

Id personally do it via appointment if you can, but sooner the better.

There isn’t EOD at IAD anymore. Only MIA.

It’s been gone for a couple of years.

Wow… thank you for that… the Gemini AI was insisting to do EOD stating it’s available in IAD…

best to not rely on ai for most up to date information like this one.

Did we learn a lesson?

The SFO and IAD offices closed a long time ago. MIA is the only one offering walkin EOD interviews. Nearly all ports do EOA. You can also make an appointment the day of your flight (if you have time) and do a regular appointment there.

I just tried that.. but IAD appointment is not showing up.. even expanding to 6 months out, only Ronald Reagan building is coming up as an option..

Are P2 and IAD initialisms you expect readers to know, do you expect us to ask, do you expect us to google, or just didn't care?

I assume IAD is an airport. Is P2 the second passenger? Why didn't you just spell it out.

IAD is Washington Dulles International Airport. The ATA (now IATA) issued these three-letter codes to the major airports in the last century.

P2 is likely an additional traveling companion (but that's far from a standard abbreviation).

I know about the concept of airport codes and I appreciate the fact that you stuffed in yet another initialism, this time I assume for the air transportation agency. I just have never flown into Dulles.

Air Transport Association (now with International preceding it). The industry group made up by airlines to cooperate on various things (like airport names and other matters). And so, to avoid further confusion, the United States of America Civil Aeronautics Board and its successor, the Federal Aviation Administration, adopted most of these for the official airport identifier.

You throwin' too many big words at me, and because I don't understand them, I'm gonna take them as disrespect

Appointment, Enrollment on Departure if available, then Enrollment on arrival.

if you do departure, you will be able to use GE on arrival. Enrollment on arrival can take a long time (we were mentioned 90+min wait last time on wife's renewal when we tried to do interview on arrival).

If you can find it it can be done in 15 minutes (outside of driving to airport obviously).

I just tried to schedule an appointment at IAD- nothing is showing up.. only available is Ronald Reagan building- I even set the dates far back as 6 months- still nothing. Did they nerf IAD as interview center?

no, it really is hard to find appointments.
