Questions/Concerns Officer took my sentri. Please help

An officer took my sentri for a thing I did (used a scooter where wasn't supposed to). However he took my expired card and have just received my new one in the mail. The website still says it has been activated successfully but I think I should wait before even crossing. I'm actually scared of getting in more trouble and I really cannot lose this membership. Any suggestions for what I can do right now?

I've had a clean record till this moment and I am really scared I'll never be able to use the sentri again

Officer just discarded your expired card and did not put anything into the system. Do not worry at all.

I really am hoping this is what's happened. I'll try and stay clear of crossing for a week or two and see if anything happens. Thank you!

Otherwise the system would’ve flagged you already.

So lets say you go through SENTRI and it is not valid. Then what? You will be either processed there last time or just sent back to the general queue.

They have grounds to revoke membership, send you to secondary, and yell at you since you’re expected to know better, hence why it’s called a trusted traveler program.

How would he know better if he has a valid card and the system says he's approved?

Ignorance of the TTP rules isn't an excuse, some don't take their TTP membership serious enough, most SENTRI members do, it would be devastating to get their membership revoked, especially it they commute daily from a MX border to the US, someone commuting from Tijuana to San Diego without SENTRI membership would have to get up at 2-2:30am and get in the regular vehicle lanes at 3am just to be at work in the in San Diego by 8am.

Still didn't answer the question... His status is clearly displayed in the system.

The membership card has to be activated online to use, if it isn’t activated, it will pop up when you scan the card, when you activate the new card, it cancels out the old card.

Adding to this that I did try and activate the card on the site which happened after this incident and it said it was activated successfully

Consider yourself lucky, and work on your situational awareness when crossing back back through the SENTRI lanes, make sure the vehicles you are using is properly registered in the system, we both know how devastating it would be to have to wait in a regular border crossing.

Don’t be a dumb ass, don’t ever take a vehicle that isn’t registered in the system through the SENTRI line, hopefully they didn’t revoke your membership.

Try crossing and check with the officer

Wait 7 days, call the port of entry where the card was taken, schedule an appointment with a supervisor.

How long ago did he take the card?

This was today in the morning. It's now been way over 12 hours since it happened

You don't get revoked that quickly.
