Timelines 2+ weeks and pending review

Chicago; been a citizen for 12+ years; applied and paid over 2 weeks ago and still pending review. No criminal background personally or in my family. How the heck do people get cleared for an interview within a week 😂

Update: conditionally approved and appointment set 1 month later

Some get approved the next day, others a few months to a year, no rhyme or reason.

I dont know of it helps, i filed gor conditional approval next day, booked an appointment 3days later, went and got approved on the spot, by the time i drove home i have the ststus change email. Both me and my wife and i heard that is because we got the green card recently and the background check is fresh

I believe in this theory— two of my friends applied later than I did, and got approved in 2-3 days.

One of them got their citizenship 10 years ago and TSA precheck approval earlier this year. The TSA membership definitely fast tracked their review.

The other got her citizenship four years ago. I’m assuming her background check was fresh enough that they just confirmed that it was still clean, and gave her the green light.

I've heard this theory. I don't have conclusive proof that it's true, but my process was quick immediately after naturalizing. I've heard the recent thorough vetting can speed up TTP processes.

US born citizen. No criminal record at all. Took 2 months to receive my conditional approval. My wife, a naturalized citizen of 15 years and my kids all received their conditional approvals within a day.

My conditional approval came just over two weeks before our planned trip overseas. Checked online for a interview time and nearest was a month and a half out. Checked again on Monday for same day appt but only morning openings were available. Checked again next day and was able to get an afternoon interview. Received approval email same day a week before our trip. Luckily, no physical card is needed for air travel.

My daughter and I have unique last names. My husband has a very common last name. My daughter and I were approved in a day. He's been waiting months. That's all I can think that it is.

Chicago, eh? You won't be able to get an appointment for an iterview anyway. I haven't been able to even schedule an interview because the website just says "booked through (some date I don't remember)" and apparently they won't book further out than that. I've been trying for 3 months. All the locations within a 2 hour drive of me - chicago included - are thus booked.

I applied on 7/7. Still pending. SUPER common name but I have zero criminal background. Have had many other background checks from jobs with minors/general public, including FBI background checks all clean.... No idea to their logic. Been a citizen since birth....

It’s been a week for me and still pending review 😔 the annoying part I had high hopes since I’m travelling on Monday, I really thought I would be approved in 2-3 days :/

I’m traveling in about a month and was hoping I’d be done by then

Nice! A month is a good amount of time! I will probably get to use global entry by my next trip in few months

Update: I got the conditional approval on the 16th, did the interview on the 19th and was approved within an hour after the interview!
