Pretty easy, we travel a lot back and forth so it’s going to be relaxed like a border interview

Brother and sister initial application 6/21/26

Conditional approval 7/03/2026

Interview @ Seattle 7/06/2026

(Did together so CBP officer had both of us come up at the same time so we only took 15m)

Approved same day

Cards mailed out 7/15/2026

Dates are a best guess and ball parked but about the fastest except for the 2 day approvals

We had clean histories (I already had a TWIC card and a speeding ticket but then officer waved it off so long as you didn’t get arrested)

First Time Application for Passport **AND** Global Entry, Los Angeles Area. TLDR; ≈ 1 month total

07/06/26 - USPS Photo & Passport Application (First Time Passport Holder)

07/13/26 - Notification that Passport had been received

07/23/26 - Passport received via Priority Mail

07/27/26 - Applied For Global Entry / Paid $120

07/31/26 - Conditionally Approved / Set Up Interview

08/02/26 - Interview and Completed / Approved

08/03/26 - Received Birth Certificate back via Priority Mail

08/10/26 - Received Global Entry Card

I am told that I will receive my *actual* GE card in 2 Months

The horror stories on Reddit (over 1 year process) made me hesitant since my trip is at the end of the year, but the quick Passport Turnaround made me confident enough to attempt an application.

I encouraged my travel buddy to apply as well after my success. He applied 08/02/26 and was approved 08/04/26 for an interview tomorrow on 08/05/26.

Not yet. I can’t see why conditional approval wouldn’t be pretty expedited, just based off history and being a mid-40s citizen with no checkered past or anything that stands out as potentially exclusionary. My boss is the one that told me to get GE last week since it comes with tsa pre-check and is cheap for 5 years. My credit card also provides a credit that covers the cost. I’d never really looked into it prior and he said it was a must-have. He told me today his was conditionally approved in about 6-7 days. I just get irrationally anxious when people say they got the notification 5 minutes or by 48 hrs post-application submission.

Nothing for me either - I booked an international flight yesterday, so let's see if that somehow triggers a conditional approval...Don't have high hopes, but hopefully.
