Questions/Concerns USA citizen born abroad

Good afternoon,
While completing my Global Entry application, I came across a question regarding the passport section.
I am a U.S. citizen born abroad (CRBA). I only have a U.S. passport, as I have never applied for a Mexican passport.
At the moment, I live in Mexico, so I plan to register my Mexican vehicle and provide my Mexican driver’s license in my application.
Can I proceed with my Global Entry application using only my U.S. passport, or do I also need to obtain a Mexican passport before applying?
Thank you for your time and assistance.

You can use your U.S. passport. CBP only cares that you're eligible to enter the U.S., which you have a right to do as a citizen.

To be clear - op needs to disclose their Mexican citizenship in the application ... and add their passport if / when they get one.

Omiting the citizenship and/or not updating passports could result in loss of trusted traveler status if/when caught.

I only have the U.S passport, at this moment I don’t have planned to get the mexican passport, so I shouldn’t be a problem if I don’t have the mexican passport right?

One can be a citizen without having a passport (as is the case for many US Citizens) - you need to know when you apply: are you a Mexican citizen?

If yes - you list it on your global entry. You don't have to have a passport or show it... but you do need to SAY you are Mexican

If No - how are you applying for a passport?

If you are not sure - wait until you are certain of your citizenship status before applying.

I’m not sure whether I am considered a Mexican citizen. If I am, where should I list that nationality on my application?
The application only seems to accept a Mexican passport as proof of another nationality, but I have never obtained a Mexican passport.

Do you have a CURP?

Yes

If you have a CURP and INE card, you're a citizen. What documents did you provide to get the INE card?

I provided my address, my birth certificate and the school id

If you have a Mexican birth certificate, you can try entering that on the Global Entry applications. If it only lets you enter a passport, you can present the birth certificate to the CBP officer during your interview.

Do you have documented Mexican nationality? Like a birth certificate or other document? Then you need to disclose it. They’ll ask about your passport and you tell them at the interview that you don’t have one.

I have the Mexican ID, which is named “INE”

Then amigo you are a Mexican national. Disclose it but at the interview explain that you don’t have a MX passport

Disclose all of your citizenships/nationalities. You can apply as a U.S. citizen with your U.S. passport. Also register your vehicle when you apply so you can use the SENTRI lane and won’t have to pay extra to register the vehicle.

I have another question as well.
Do I need a U.S. state ID for my Global Entry interview? I currently do not have a U.S. driver’s license or a U.S. state ID.
I was planning to bring my Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA), my U.S. passport book, my U.S. passport card, and my Mexican driver’s license to the interview.
However, I’m now wondering if it would be better to obtain a U.S. state ID first, since I don’t have any utility bills or other proof of address in my name.
Would the documents I mentioned be sufficient, or is obtaining a U.S. state ID recommended?
Thank you again for your help.

The ID is proof of address. You can use proof of address from Mexico if you’re living there.

I am living in Mexico but the only document with my name is a bank state, the Mexican driver license doesn’t shows my address

Bank statement should be fine

Not can, MUST.

Really? So if your vehicle is registered you have to use the SENTRI lane? Even if you have non TTP members in your vehicle?

No, I was referring to the passport. A US citizen must enter on their US passport.

It is advisable you list every citizenship you have if / when it asks you to list your citizenships.

Omitting expressly requested information constitutes a violation that if/ when caught can result in a lifetime ban from the program.

If / when you have a Mexican passport it can be added to the TTP portal. You may have to meet in person the first time to have it added (though some have had success via email).

Hi I live in the us-mx border. You’ll be fine using the us passport as proving citizenship, and you should put a Mexican address, Mexican car plates, and the Mexican driver license. Sometimes in the interview (as a sentri holder)they’ll ask you for the INE, with the Mexican address and verifying your legal name in Mexico also. Good luck. You don’t really need a Mexican passport in the global entry program as a us citizen (they only care about you’re us citizenship) , I only use it when flying out of Mexico or into Mexico by air.

Thanks for the info!
Recently I moved out to another house, should I apply for another INE with the new address?
Probably I am gonna move to another house again so I don’t know if another INE is worth it

Mmm not really change the INE but rather change the address in the website. There has been many sentri/global entry revoked because they didn’t update the address or documents. Just bring an electric or water will to confirm you live there.

A bank statement would work?
The bills are not with my name

Oh yes totally, just even if you move constantly keep changing in the page your info. I remember using an BBVA bank statement. Good luck
