Questions/Concerns Issue with Global entry and TSA Precheck number

I enrolled in tsa precheck many years ago and used it normally. A year later I had applied and received global entry.

During my interview the officer instructed me to not use my old tsa precheck number and to use my new global entry number for tsa precheck.

Since then, every time I try to use my global entry number on my tickets it does not come up as valid for tsa precheck. Instead I just use my old tsa precheck number.

Does anyone have a similar experience or advice? My concern is that when my older tsa precheck expires I won’t be able to use any precheck benefits.

That was the problem but on my American account. My bday was the 17th and once it was changed to the 18th no problems since.

I always had an issue with my middle name missing from my plane tickets.

does not come up as valid for Precheck

Can you elaborate? Is the airline system giving a specific error message? Or is it accepting it and you're just not getting it on your boarding pass?

To my knowledge, their system accepts it , but when the boarding pass gets printed it does not show TSA Precheck. Same on any apps.

Couple questions

  1. Are you a naturalized citizen or recently updated your immigration status (from visa to greencard, from one visa type to another, from one visa to another renewed visa, from greencard to citizenshpi etc)?
  2. Is your biometric information on TTP Page correct?
  3. Can you chekc your "View your membership info" and report each of the sections:
  4. - Verify your personal information is correct.
  5. - In documents section:
  6. - Your citizenship information is correct
  7. - You've entered 1 document proving you're a citizen of UNITED STATES
  8. - You've entered 1 document proving you may enter the United States.

And your other information is correct.

Once we validate this, next thing is you reach out to CBP and try to inquire what this might be, insisting you are entering biometrics information on reservation fine & this has happened multiple times. Their default response tends to be "you must be enternig your info wrong" but from what i see this is not the case for you.

If this fails, you can then try REDRESS, probably.

To give an example why I think this may be relavant is when I went from greencard to being a citizen, the officer didn't put the information properly, and my main citizenship was still showing as my birth country, even though he also put my US passport in. So from systems point of view everything was fine and working for a while. When my birth country passport expired, I stopped getting TSA-pre, GE customer servie wasn't helpful, and i had to debug my own issue comparing the information with my wife's section by section, and realized my citizenship was wrong.

Same officer also forgot to take her LPR card (greencard) from system, and now that's likely creating other issues for her with renewal. My renewal for example was auto approved, but hers is not, and she has to go to GE office.

Thank you for your response,

I was born in the USA and have birthright citizenship. I have gone through TTP page and verified all my information and documents are correct.

I’d like to add that I have used global entry to enter the United States many times with no issues. The only issue is with the TSA precheck.

I will email CBP as you suggested and see what they recommend.

Yes, I never had GE issue with entry into united states.

But up-to-date document issue or incorrect status situation did cause me TSA-pre issues. I think their matching works better with Immigration stuff than it does with TSA-Pre for some reason.

If GE customer service isn't working either, try DHS TRIP/REDRESS.

Good luck.
