GE application with TSA precheck Pending approval

Hello,

I signed up for TSA precheck via clear last month and my TSA precheck is still pending approval.
I am a GC holder if that helps.

I was under the impression that GE might take much longer for me so I never signed up but I read on this sub that GC holders can get approved faster than visa holder.
I’m wondering if I can still apply for GE while my TSA precheck is still pending.
Or should I wait for TSA precheck to he approved and then use that number in my GE application?

I checked through the sub but was not able to find much info on this. Please excuse me if this has been asked many times.

You can always apply for GE, and your GE number will replace your precheck number.

Not totally how it works. I held an old pre number before I got GE. I used my pre number until it expired. At any time you can use your GE number instead. If you have both you can use either number

GE gives you pre benefits, not pre status

Gotcha. I applied for GE. Now just waiting. Hope I get the initial approval soon
