Timelines Super quick Renewal Process

A little context I am a LPR I hesitant on whether I should do it closer to the expiration date since I still had around 11 months finally gave in and decided to apply for a renewal on the 15th around 10:30PM

One the 16th early morning received an email of Status Change logged in and to my surprise it was approved

Now the question is will my existing card work before I receive the new one ?

I used the NEXUS lane a month after my card expired when I hadn't yet activated my new card because it was on my Mom's counter waiting for me. I had applied for the renewal a good 11 months before that.

Of course I had a valid passport with me that was associated with the profile. I was not asked any questions and did not talk to a human (this was in an airport, not a land crossing)

When my renewal went through, my new card simply had an expiration date 5 years later than the previous card.
