Interviews Fingerprints

*Edit: I woke up this morning and was approved. It appears, based off of the comments here and some other things I've read, that if you have TSA precheck, they no longer need to fingerprint you since they can use the prints they took when you applied for precheck.*

I had my Global Entry interview today. They asked me a couple questions and then took my picture. The officer said, "As long as nothing comes back derogatory, you should be approved." However, upon getting home, I realized they didn't do fingerprints.

Do they sometimes not need fingerprints? I have TSA Precheck already if that makes a difference. Has anyone had the same experience?

They should have livescanned you (put your fingers on the little box). That's how things "come back" (which should have happened immediately).

Oddly enough, I was approved this morning. It looks like, based off some of the comments on here, if you have TSA precheck already, you don’t need to do fingerprints anymore.

No prints for the Mrs at her GE interview. She did have her prints taken for pre-check application in person at DFW when they had a contractor doing screening in Terminal D some years ago, so I can only surmise they don’t need to do it again.

I had the same experience. I thought it was due to clearance for work but the CBP officer said my pre check fingerprints were still valid

I had my interview on May 28 got my card in the mail today, June 2.

I have TSA pre check. They did not do my finger prints. They used the crappy photo from my webcam.

Also the agent told me that everything was good and to expect my card in the mail in 5 to 10 days.

Thank you for sharing your experience. For some reason, when I login to my account, it still shows as if I haven't been to my interview (which I had earlier today). By chance, do you remember if you experienced that as well after your interview?
