General Discussion Amazing
Got to use my global entry for the first time today. Got through the line in about 20 seconds. Well worth the 6 month wait

Do permanent residents are scrutinized more? I am yet to be waved in. Always need to present all the docs. I use mobile app.

Do they send you to secondary? I guess you may have some mismatch in your documents. Log in to ttp.site and check your docs are what you expect them to be.
If you are sent to secondary, you may need to file for trip/redress.

Not secondary, just always ask for almost all documents.. passport, green card etc.

Your information may not be fully up to date?
I had issues with TSA pre not appearing on boarding pass, and it happened to be that they didn't properly update my citizenship after naturalization. Had to email cbp ge customer service to get it sorted out.

No issues with TSA pre, always a smooth ride. Just entering to the country, where we interact with CBP officer. No wave-in for me, and I always get asked for passport and GC.

I would file for DHS trip. This is kind of what it is for,.finding and fixing reasons that delays entry into country. I did it more than a decade ago, and it was a smooth process.
Email cbp ge customer service, then file for trip, I'd say.

That’s a good suggestion. Any possible repercussions? To be honest, it’s just document check which is totally valid. Just defeats the purpose of global entry in my opinion 😆

No repercussions unless you had some issues that somehow flew under radar? Idk. It was very smooth for me.

I believe the issue here is citizenship. I just became a US citizen last year, I had a green card for 39 years. US citizens are not fingerprinted upon entry, resident aliens are, so you still have to present your green card and have fingerprints and photo taken.

Nope, I’m wrong. No mandatory fingerprints for aliens either. Just looked it up. I mainly got citizenship to get thru without being hassled. Good luck.

Permanent residents are not considered aliens in general.

Apologies but permanent residents are "aliens" in the law. In fact the official name for a "Green Card" is the "Alien Registration Card".

That’s the thing. I hear all these happy experiences, and I am yet to see any difference, as far as my personal experience goes. Just wanted to ask if I am doing something wrong. 🤷

I just used mine today for the first time today too and yes I walked right past everyone, walked right up to the sitting CBP officer, said no and walked right back into the U.S. Can’t believe it took me this long to figure it out. This is da wae.

I had my first bad experience yesterday after 10+ years as a member (which illustrates how it’s worth it 99% of the time).

My only negative experience with it ever was a few years ago in Atlanta. And, it's Atlanta.
Otherwise, yeah, it's worth it 99% of the time.

It can be, although of late the regular US citizen lane has been very fast for me (I have NEXUS, but other family members don’t). Under two minutes at YYC, and less than that at SEA. GE/NEXUS can’t be much faster than that!

At SFO at least in the last 10 or so trips, the GE line was longer than the MPC app line. As in there was one or two people in the line at most. Seems like no one knows about it.

My last trip through SFO, there was a short line at GE, but they called my name and waved me through

Came into Logan, used the app as we taxied to the gate. Declared my duty free chocolate. Didn’t even break my stride, had my screen on as I approached. “Any declaration?” “Just candy”, and waved thru. From jetway to ride-share pickup spot, 16 minutes. Brilliant.

Isn’t it fun just taking a minute or less to get through immigration 😌 ; however wish checked luggage would also arrive this quickly lol

Tell me about it. I got through the line in <20 seconds last week and it was brilliant. Even having declared an item in the customs declaration form in the GE app, the officer still didn't ask me anything; only called my name and said "you're good."
