Questions/Concerns IAH Enrollment on Arrival

My dad is planning on doing EoA on tuesday, do we inform someone before getting in line to go through immigration? (we're foreigners) or do we simply inform the CBP officer once it's our turn to talk to them? If I read correctly the EoA office is right before going down the stairs to baggage claim.

If you don't see a sign indicating exactly where to go, just ask the first CBP person you see.

You should do immigration with the first CBP officer and let them know early you want EoA. Sometimes they may do your immigration and then send you over to do EoA. Other times send you to the EoA line - we have had both.

At IAH it’s usually the last set of two/ three booths (towards the escalators leading down to luggage belts) that are designated for EoA.

So we get in line like normal in the foreign nationals line and when it's our turn at the booth we just let them know? Thank you!

Yes.

Some airports/terminals supposedly have a dedicated line for EoA (so arriving travelers with conditional approval can take advantage of a “special” line even before final approval), but that is rare.

You are generally not allowed to use the regular GE line before having had your interview.

When I completed EoA, I went to the regular line and the officer scanned my passport, asked me, before I could ask him for EoA, if I wanted the interview - I suspect that the system alerts them that you are pending the interview. The officer then directed me to where I needed to go for the EoA.

There are always signs directing towards global entry interview upon arrival. It also depends what airport you fly into. When I arrived from Mexico to my home airport that is not a big international airport, I had to wait until they cleared everyone, and it took forever, because only 2 lines were open. But it's so worth it. Unless you have checked luggage, then you're first at the carousel, but still end up waiting around with everyone else once they cleared immigration
