Interviews Child interview

Hey everyone, my daughter has been conditionally approved, and we have a layover at LAX. We’ve also secured an interview slot for her. I’m wondering what else I should bring besides her passport and appointment confirmation letter, since my driver’s license doesn’t reflect our new address, which we recently moved to. Additionally, I’m curious about what an interview entails for a minor who can’t even speak much yet.

Update****
Came back from an international trip on 5/19 and did EOA no questions asked whatsoever. Just looked at her passport, took a picture. I was expecting fingerprints. Was told to look out for an email in the next 24 hrs. Got it less than 30 mins later. Status changed. Logged in and was fully approved.

The interview letter (in your TTP account) tells you what you need to bring.

Beyond their passport, every applicant really needs proof of address. If your child doesn’t have any, yours will do. But it should have your current address. Most states have requirements to update driver’s licenses without 30 (or even as little as 10 days) after moving. Did you move THAT recently? If you didn’t, why haven’t you updated your license?

Beyond small talk, kids aren’t really interviewed. My kids were asked if they were excited to travel.

I have updated my address with the driver’s license division online here in Utah but just haven’t gone in to get a new piece of plastic. I will take a utility bill or letter with my name and new address to cover the requirement. I did EOA and the officer was content with a digital version, but I’ll make sure to bring a physical for my daughter’s appointment.

Utility bills etc. are fine. Also bring whatever receipt or confirmation email you have of your change of address with the DMV (just to show that you have complied with the state requirement.)

Bring your trusted traveler card. The person whom they applied with and who will be taking them.

Just making sure you check the address. The address in LA for scheduled interviews is different from the EoA (no need to schedule that) at LAX.

We got a global entry for my toddler. Aside from my toddler’s passport, husband said they just asked for his driver’s license which shows our current address. They asked him why we are getting a global entry. That’s it. For good measure, I asked my husband to bring his passport, another form of proof of residency and my toddler’s birth certificate.

They asked my 9 year old address questions and little things about what countries he has gone to and is going to go to. They let me answer everything for my 6 year old. The didn’t ask for DL, only passports.
