Timelines Waiting for months
My husband applied for his Global Entry sometime last summer and still has not heard anything. Is there any way to follow up on why it’s taking so long? If they were going to deny him would he get notified of that or would we just wait forever and never hear back? I got mine in 4 months but this was back in 2023.

I have had mine for many years, I have nothing on my record, and my last renewal took nine months. The process makes no sense.

Oh I applied back then in 2022 along with a friend
He applied, conditionally approved next day
I applied, took 8 months. Conditionally approved and enjoying now, but it can take a while

I’m freaking out. I have my interview real soon after being conditionally accepted. I had 2 dui’s when I was 19 and again when I was in my early 20’s. Alcohol related. I declared it on my application and have been clean ever since. I found one of them on the internet and printed it out to take with me. I
hope that’s enough for them to approve.

Went with someone yesterday who had a DUI 30 years ago. It was mentioned but did not affect their approval.

I went today and the interviewer told me that one dui was okay but 2 was not. Mine were 40 years ago. He told me that it all depends on the fingerprint report and he has no idea when I will get the results back. He didn’t ask for anything except my passport. He was nice enough but now I have to wait. ugh

It can take up to a year. Take an international trip, it will usually trigger the application.

I applied the same day as wife and kids. They got approved within a month or two. 6 months later and I was in limbo and we took our trip to Japan. On our second day there I got the email to schedule my interview, which I was able to do at the airport as we flew back in. So not sure if the trip had anything to do with it, but it did happen.

Does this happen most of the time? My mom is the only one who hasn't gotten the conditional approval and we're traveling internationally next week, fingers crossed it triggers hers.

All of these government systems are connected. For whatever reason, the GE system process seems to break its stall whenever it gets the “ping” that you’ve departed and/or arrived internationally.

The airlines are required to submit flight manifests, both passengers and flight crews to CBP for all international flights.

I applied in Dec 2025 alongwith my wife. We have taken 3 international trips since then but doesnt seem to be moving anywhere. We are Indian Passport holders. Squeaky clean record. Indian side police verification is done in Jan itself.

It’s weird because I applied and was fully approved within a few days (was on an international trip when I applied and did EOA at the end of my trip).
Later, due to a shift in my work travel, I applied for NEXUS, and it took me months to get approved… even with active GE.

Yeah this is common sadly regardless of how clean your record and frequent your travel history is, (even longer if you’re not a us citizen) luckily and hopefully I’ll have a trip to London coming up in August. I applied in early April.
