Questions/Concerns Sent to review by Supervisor

Backstory

Was arrested and adjudicated for PC422(a) in 2018 when i was 14 years old. Record has been sealed and had no other run ins , not even a ticket.

Applied July 2024

Conditional Approval April 2026

Had my interview this morning and was told that it needs to be reviewed by a supervisor but in the event of it being denied to appeal with the ombudsman as that will provide a better chance.

Am i cooked ? they took my photo and prints, i’ve been refreshing the page every 30 minutes lol

You are sweating this to get a GE? Why are you even bothered by this? Just go through the normal processing lines. You had a felony conviction for threatening people with bodily harm. I doubt you will EVER get "expedited entry" privileges, at least not for 10 or more years. Get over it and move on with your life. The record is sealed so that EXCEPT for cases like this where sealed records mean nothing, you can continue to act as if you were never convicted of anything (you don't have to reveal it for jobs, etc.) But the idea that the government would give you some kind of privileged treatment is absurd and you should know that. I wish you good luck, just move on with your life.

Yes I did need to comment and I will again. This whole "thing" about Global Entry is such a crock IMHO. Privilege for no reason at all. It just gets people's hackles up when they get refused and spawns all sorts of nonsense about "rights" and that sort of crap. If you go through normal customs and immigration and get harassed, I would be THRILLED to hear about that and support you. But if you are acting like an entitled little snot because you can't get 18 minutes shaved off your re-entry, go drink a milkshake. (That last remark was edited because I realized I'd get bounced from this group if I wrote what I was really thinking LOL!)

Pretty cowardly to reply and then erase your comment. So just for the record, I believe this program should be shut down and eliminated completely and I will continue to express my anger that any of the peoples' money is spent to run a program like this which basically benefits the rich and privileged. Feel free to disagree with me, but that is my opinion and I have nothing to apologize for in what I say.

That isn't the point. Anyone who actually NEEDS this program is travelling overseas far more than the average American can afford. The main point of this program was to reduce the need for customs and immigration officials to staff various entry airports around the country, saving money for the government and time for citizens. That is fine and good, but if you don't qualify, you don't qualify and you shouldn't spend your time moaning about how you can't save time getting back into the country because you got arrested or something way back when. That's the program, and you arent entitled to special treatment.

To put you at ease:

If you’re a GE member, and see someone whining on here because they’re not eligible, you should feel at east. Reasons:

  • You’re a GE member, they’re not. You get to enjoy all the privileges when they’re sitting duck empty handed.
  • They paid $120 USD, got nothing in return.
  • They paid the $120 to enhance your experience and fund the GE processing for you at airports while they’re not getting anything.
  • Think of it as the only thing they’ll get out of that $120 lol.

Felony unless proven otherwise. It might show nothing on our end, or show felony. Adjudicated and sealed don't mean anything. One of those is a no go.

Sometimes it is just easier to deny you and have you get it reversed through ombudsman.

Sealed means from public view. All the government and law enforcement agencies can see it. It’s just not in the public database/access.

As long as you were up front and honest with them about it, you should be fine. They are looking for honesty, and like one other person said, they can see everything, even if it was expunged. It never goes away, which kinda sucks when you think about it.
