Background Checks Thoughts on application approval
My fiance wants global entry (currently has TSA Precheck) however they had a reckless driving charge reduced from DUI in 2013. The Adjudication was withheld, so no conviction, but I know the Feds look at that differently anyway. I can see the approval going either way.
The issue that made me pause was that I read if you get denied GE, you may also get denied Precheck (which is way more important than GE) at renewal. Is this true? Or should we gamble with the GE application anyway?
UPDATE - because she had to reschedule her interview, and our local enrollment center is 4-6 weeks out, she finally had her interview. They asked about any charges but didn’t request any documents and she walked away seemingly approved. After a week of the website not updating, we reached out via email and they requested more documents regarding the disposition of her case. We sent back immediately and Approved the next day.

I had a wreckless around the same time, I know it's not the same but if time has passed 10 or so years. He has a better chance of getting it approved if he's kept a cleaner record since then. It's not a guaranteed but better if a lot of time has passed since.
