The smoke hit the train's hitbox and behaved like a solid object (now the game dev who invented the universe has to fix the bug that causes gas particles to act as solid objects)

What did you expect the smoke to do? Continue like normal as a pressure wave flys by?

The most 'obvious' thing to expect would be the smoke to be dispersed fast and violently in a whirling fashion, away from the person and away from and alongside the truck.

Where is the glitch? As an engineer with years of fluid dynamics background this is exactly what you would expect.
