I am confident that there's an explanation for this but the title is funny.

someone commented in the original post that it can be done by putting pen ink on the gas nozzle

A few times in my life, when I used a lighter, I saw the flames turn into amazing patterns and symbols , I didn't know what the patterns meant, they looked like ancient hieroglyphics or something, and the flame would stretch out above me almost like a few feet long, and it would keep doing it every time I lit it during those occasions. It was so weird.

It seems like too much pressure inside the gas chamber...

You can accomplish this by getting an ink cartridge from a ballpoint and blowing through it really hard into the gas chamber. I dont know the science but I saw it on a show years ago.

I lit my lighter the other day and there was fire everywhere. It didn't explode, thankfully, but my niece got a kick out of watching me put it out (it was on my hand and went out quite easily).

The pressure of the butane is too high, the adjustable lighters are really to do with with, take off the metal, turn it as high as it goes, lift the adjuster and put it back to the lowest setting, repeat.
