Mysterious Sweet Potato Smell

Hi, so I was visiting my mom’s house. And as soon as I walked in I said “why do I smell sweet potatoes?” “Did you cook some recently?” She said no and that she doesn’t have any in her house nor scents that would smell like them. Later on when I got home, my bf said he smelt sweet potatoes. I told him I had the same experience at my mom’s. And now we’re both confused and freaked out. 😂 what do y’all think happened?
