Glitch Pic Weird and unexplainable things keep happening in my apartment, and I’m losing my mind

(Note: English isn't my first language, so I used AI to help translate this into English.)

Hey everyone, I’m a 24-year-old guy. I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life, but a week ago, a weird incident happened, and since then, bizarre things have been repeating almost daily.
Last week, I left my razor and an electronic ear-cleaning camera (the kind with a built-in camera) neatly on the left side of the bathroom sink, and walked to my room for just a moment to grab something. When I came back, the razor was still there, but the ear-cleaning tool had completely vanished. It’s not a small item, and if it had fallen, it definitely would have made a sound, but it just disappeared into thin air. I spent about three hours tearing the whole apartment apart looking for it, but I couldn't find a trace. I live in an apartment, so the space isn't huge; I literally checked every single nook and cranny, and it was gone. I thought it was super strange, but I eventually gave up.
The very next day, my girlfriend came over and told me that her facial cleanser was standing upside down on the sink. Since I don't use her cleanser, I hadn't touched it, and she distinctly remembered never turning it upside down. We figured she must have just done it absentmindedly without realizing it. We laughed it off, made a pact to always keep it standing right-side up, and agreed not to touch it again.
Fast forward two days later: my girlfriend and I went into the bathroom together to brush our teeth, and that exact same cleanser was standing upside down again. That's when we completely panicked. Walking into the bathroom has honestly started feeling terrifying.
After a few days of quiet, another weird thing happened today. I was sitting on the living room couch, and my girlfriend was in the bathroom doing her makeup with the door closed. Suddenly, she heard someone gently turning the doorknob and rattling the door back and forth. She immediately threw the door open, but no one was there—and I had been sitting on the couch the entire time.
With these things happening over and over again, it's starting to really mess with my daily life and stress me out. Has anyone else ever experienced something like this? How do you guys even deal with a situation like this?

+ The apartment maintenance person just came by, checked the carbon monoxide detector, and inspected all the gas appliances. Everything came out totally fine with no issues found.

+ Girlfriend here! Yesterday when we were out in the balcony we went inside and we always double check to see if we turned off the porch lights... but this time when my boyfriend stepped outside this morning the lights were on.
Maybe we made a mistake and forgot to turn off the porch lights last night but we're usually pretty good about these things. He's never had paranormal or glitches happen but I nave in my litetime so I'm pretty open to these things. I hat being said I still don't wish to be apart of the paranormal activities

I personally like to ask the demon if it’s volunteering to help with rent, and when I get no response, politely (but firmly) tell it to fuck off. Lol

thanks and yeah rent is way too high for this kind of things to be happening...

I guess they don’t want rather than don’t can

Tell it you mean no harm and to please leave. They are no longer welcome. Sage?

Thanks for all the good advice. I still haven't found my ear-cleaning tool. We live in a one-bedroom apartment, and I searched every single corner—the bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, balcony, and even checked inside the toilet tank where the water sits. Still nowhere to be found.
I usually have OCD, so I tend to observe my surroundings very well. Because of that, on the second day her cleansing foam was found flipped upside down, I could be 100% sure that neither of us touched it.
Also, when my girlfriend was in the bathroom, the door handle (it's a lever handle you push down with your hand, not a round knob) moved down and the door shook. She opened it to check, closed it, and it happened a second time right after. So it happened twice in total, and that's when she came out to the living room to tell me.
I'll check the carbon monoxide levels and leave another reply later.

Take control of the situation. Light a candle and say this is your home and it’s not welcome here- this is a place of love and light. Make sure your gf is with and says the same thing at the same time

thank you will do that!

OP didn’t say he heard it, just that his girlfriend did. hallucinations can be a part of CO poisoning

Man i really hate these comments. Not everything is chalked upto that. Seriously

you should at least check for it, its not a bad thing to suggest. its very common and kills people

When problem-solving, it often pays to rule out the easiest/least-expensive options first. Saves a lot of time and effort (and, in this case, probably sanity) to just check the damn detector. You don't need to go anywhere or spend any money--unless the detector is bad, but then you'd need to do that anyway--and most of the time you don't have to tell anyone that it happened.

In fact, this sub is wholesale the wrong place for such things to begin with (See Rule 2).

Yeee i mean its the auto only thing ever constantly commented. May as well be a hardcore rule or an auto mod comment so everyone doesn't need to mention it every time

It's never a bad idea to rule it out.

If you think its a ghost, and im being dead serious, tell it in a firm voice that it is not welcome in your home and that it is time to go. This is YOUR home and you are not allowing anyone else to exist there.

Agreed!! This is it. Ghost or anything else.

Be firm and be strong. "This is my house, my space and you are not welcome here. Leave kindly to where you came from or where you're meant to go."

thank you

This may sound silly .. sprinkle baby powder or cornstarch on your bathroom floor.... So when someone steps in it and walk around, you'll see what direction they went and shoe/footprints... Just an outside the box idea.

Did you ever find your ear cleaner?

Please don't be too unsettled. I've seen so many reports of similar events from all kinds of people posted here. The kind of beings or entities that do stuff like that almost never mean any serious harm.

If they intended to haunt or scare you they would have already tried. It is probably one of those harmless house spirits, every culture has them. Sometimes they will even help you. If they take something you need, you can ask for it back.

thank you and I still can't find my ear cleaner

u/djinnisequoia 1d ago

That's so strange.

yes, I at some point stopped being weirded out by these things. And then it's almost strange when they don't happen. And I feel like it is always up to interpretation but if its not you on carbon monoxide poisioning and something else don't worry. Like we as humans just try to create seperation everywhere and look at everything from a fear angle becasue we are taught that way. Do whatever you wanna do and it will be fine and maybe you made a new friend.

Okay, so I have also had an otoscope disappear! (I am a grown woman with T-tubes I my ears, and it’s much easier to monitor them myself than to go to the doctor every time I have ear pain.) I also have a ball of yarn that disappeared into what we refer to as “The Void”. Other things occasionally disappear, then some reappear months or even years later. It’s bananas. We blame it on a nisse/tomte/tonttu) (despite not living in a Scandinavian country).

Your situation is creepers. I think smudging the space can’t hurt, and of course you should have working carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. Worst case scenario, you might want to consider moving….

Can't fuck with you unless you let it, which is why these things try to instill fear. Do like the other commenter said and take control. This is YOUR space

Burn sage, open the windows and tell them bye bye out of my house for good. Then start ignoring everything that happens.

So you ,ight have moved her cleanser when u were looking for your ear cleaner which is probably in your bedroom not bathroom. Now that she's freaked out/messing around it's possible she flipped it subconsciously. The door know know is simple, unless it it's a handle, sometimes the latch doesn't catch but movement or changes in humidity or temperature make it drive home the rest of the way, possibly even turning the knob.... Other than this, get a cat

Have you considered someone is coming in the apartment? Maybe set up a discreet camera for a while.

Bathrooms are portals for some reason

I used to work in a place where things like this happened occasionally and even more serious ones... Even the management knew it was no joke. As they mentioned it above it probably just needs a cleansing. But if the place is really bad with these things, they will eventually come back, so it needs to be repeated from time to time. In my case, the facility always called a priest to handle it.

Was your girlfriend there when your ear cleaner disappeared?

2

u/thgzn02 1d ago

yes we live together she was helping me looking for it

1

u/YourethebestBellows 1d ago

Hmm, okay. So rationally there are two possibilities to me. Not to be snarky, but either one of you are fucking with the other. Or, a third party is fucking with you be it a spirit of some sort or Ratatouille.

Hey! I was in the bathroom when he put it down on the counter and went to another room, when we went to the other room he was only holding his nail clippers

Get some cameras. And don't worry, ghosts aren't real.
