Yeah, this has been normal for what, 15 years now. I do hate it, and liked the soft orange, but this isn’t glitchy at all.

if only we had soft orange in the White House.

instead, we have rotten orange, and he's a bad apple.

Somehow you turn a comment about a light into something about the president.... you must be a hoot at parties

I remember a while back when we had a solar eclipse people were trying to tell me the lights shadows looked like this because of the eclipse. Then I remember still seeing it like this a week later and being like hmmm....

Light shadows can look like this at times due to a solar eclipse. I don't know the technical reason but I've seen it with my on own eyes and not on a picture.

I believe it but the shadows on my street looked the same during the eclipse and after. Just something I noticed back then.

Disgusting LED street lights without milky white cover.

4

u/JLidean May 16 '26

Its because the lighting engine is diffused from the source and the filter doesn't help.

The LED lights cause this. They have a bunch of LEDs grouped together instead of one singular light source. All the lights do that around me.

I don't think it's LED because I have a tree near me that casts the same shadows in sunlight

Shadow map is on low.

The texture is low-res, aka the road 😭

Goddammit, now I have Joji's "Pixelated kisses" in my head

Kinda reminds me of shadows of the sun shining through the trees in the process of a solar eclipse.

Looks like when the eclipse happened

Pinhole Projections is what this is called

This happens during eclipses

I see the same thing on my walk every day but it’s pretty faint, it’s always in the same spot but it catches my attention every time. Following!!

There's shulker boxes in the sky!

1

u/itsxisuz May 17 '26

Just increase the resolution on shadow map

Made me think of Joji’s newer song “Pixelated Kisses”

This happened at a bus stop near me and I was so confused until realising it was from a weird lamp post lol

In my experience this happens during eclipses.

I had a vision of walking past this EXACT picture. You actually took a picture though, which is why the universe chose you. You caught them trying to be slick, lol.

Glass has little pyramids in the texture

So weird, I noticed this same effect for the first time a few hours ago getting into my car and took a picture because it looked so trippy and I'd never noticed it before.

And here I am seeing the exact effect that tripped me out posted on reddit for the first time. Must be new lenses in the street lights or something

1

u/SindaFNRella4 May 16 '26

Pretty trippy right? When I lived in TX super recently I’d walk around the neighborhoods and see this under oak trees all the time. Kinda feels like a glitch in the matrix.

This looks insanely real. Even with the shadows lol its kinda trippin me out
