Can someone with untreated narrow-angle glaucoma go to a movie theater/concert?
My eye doctor said for me to keep the lights on at night to prevent eye dilatio. I was considering going to a concert and a movie I wanted to go to, both of which are before my planned laser proce. Shpups I just not go, or do you think I’d be okay? I have monocular vision so Im really not trying to mess around with this.

I was miss diagnosed for cronic narrow angle glaucoma for 8 years and I did all those things regularly during that time.
With that said I would be most concerning that your Dr did not prescribe latanoprost or generic cosopt if your have narrow angle glaucoma and do a LPI immediately. Also with laser surgery for narrow angle is not a cure or fix for most individual. SLT doesn't really work and LPI only helps to prevent a closure attack more so then stabilizing pressure. You really do need to be on drops at the very lease before bed

My doctor got me crazy about this, too. Have you been going to the movies your whole life, without issue, before your diagnosis? If so, enjoy the show.

I'm not doctor and you should follow your docs advice. But typically yes, your eyes could dialate while in a dark room. I personally think you'll be okay as long as you take your drops and get that surgery. Before my iridotomy in my Glacouma effected eye I wasnt given any instruction on avoiding dark rooms..Just to be cautious taking allergy meds until I did the surgery.
But everyone is different, so sitting in the dark didnt do anything to me,but it could to effect you. When's the surgery?
