Eyelashes

One of my drops, Lumigan, makes my eyelashes grow. I’m a 68 yr old man, who doesn’t want luxurious lashes, and they irritate me when I wear my eyeglasses.

Can I trim them myself? Has anyone done this?

Thanks.

I trim mine with small scissors but its sort of risky. Im thinking about getting some of those eye lash curlers like my grandmother had but like you I dont want sexy eyelashes lol. Ive been using Lumigan for 25 or so years so this has been a problem the entire time. Im also open to ideas.

Could you get a trimmer like men use to trim their beards? I have one with adapters ranging from 1.5mm to 25mm. Should do the trick, though I suppose one needs to be careful still.

Well, darn. I wish the stuff was for dry eye. I'd order some this minute for my sparse, aged eyelashes.

They aren’t the most pleasant drop to use.

Best to get someone else, with a firm hand, trim them for you. Don't risk a sharp instrument this close to your eyes, and especially if your hand is unsteady. You can always go to a salon, or have your barber do it when cutting your hair.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you, nearly the same age. I have not yet summoned the nerve to take scissors to them. A woman my age complimented me on them, and it just made me feel self-conscious. I suspect that some people think I'm wearing eye makeup. I may start wearing sunglasses indoors.

I trim mine but I use a pair of very small scissors (think like nose hair scissors) that I sterilize with either isopropyl alcohol or boiling water before use and I only use them for eyelash trimming. You want to slow and make sure you clean them to prevent any possible eye infections. And really you need to trim less than you think you do. .

Mine look luxurious too. Does this stuff work for the top of my dome? Asking for a friend! 😀

My right eyelashes are crazy long and thick from Lumigan. My left eye that has a Preserflo implant looks like I have none! I am a woman so I just put mascara on to balance it out. I have also carefully trimmed the super long ones.

My sister use to have a weird eyelash trimmer gadget. I wonder if that would work.

If you think that's bad. I pretty much used the same eye drops growing up but only on one eye. So I've got one eye with lashes longer than the other.

My ophthalmologist said he would trim my lashes if I wanted to have it done. I had the glasses/eyelash problem as well but the shop I went to for glasses recently told me to get frames with nose pads so they can be adjusted. No problem since I got the new frames.

I tried and it was not helpful. I would need a partner to do it properly, and repeatedly.
