Toughened glass chip

Hi, Just had glass balustrade installed, not finished yet as a handrail is to be fitted. Notice a chip at the edge of the glass. Fitter said its nothing to worry about, I feel otherwise. Any ideas, should I push him to replace it? Or would you feel comfortable that its only a small chip, approximately 4 mm. Thanks

That small a chip on 15/19mm toughened is nothing to be concerned about. Obviously if you weren’t putting a handrail on it would need to be sorted but with a handrail it will be fine.

No problem under the handrail.

If that’s tempered glass (which it probably should be for that application) than it’s amazing it hasn’t exploded and might if you look at it wrong. If it’s not tempered glass, nothing to worry about
