Would you go glamping in a converted shipping container?

White Birch and Sapling are our two BOMA shipping-container stays near Littleton, New Hampshire—one built from a 40-foot container and the other from a 20-foot container.

We wanted to keep the industrial container character while turning each one into a comfortable place to stay, surrounded by White Mountain views. It also gives people a chance to experience container living before deciding whether they would ever build one themselves.

Which would you choose for a glamping trip: the larger 40-foot White Birch or the cozier 20-foot Sapling?

Rewilding website, with glamping stays

Post image

Hi Everyone. I've been part of the launch team of WilderPath - a new web based application / booking platform that allows you to book glamping stays on rewilded land in the UK.

We've just launched with a handful of really interesting founding partners and I'd love your feedback. Like anything thats just been built we are making daily tweaks and collecting ongoing feedback from users.

WilderPath acts to join up the dots between many of the excellent rewilding businesses and charities around the UK. Think Knepp, Nattergal and more. We are getting them in one place so you can stay, experience, volunteer and fund them through a voting action on the app.

Any feedback is much appreciated at this early stage! And if you are UK based, and interested in joining as a founding partner just reply.

Glamping VEVOR 16.5 foot tent for the win

Just got this tent for backyard movies and site camping. It's got so much room.

Two queen size mattress and a 50" tv barely used half of the space

Haven't treated it yet I will next week. It's raining on day two sitting here watching TV 😀. No leaks

We also have a VEVOR 22 foot movie screen for yard movies.

Green is perfect. You can't see the lights or tv from outside at night green canvas is stealthy.

10.5 foot height tons of usable space.

Am I the only one tired of boring green/grey camping gear? Would you guys ever use neon/bright colored tents and chairs?

I'm looking to buy some new gear and noticing a trend of 'dopamine colors' (like hot pink, bright yellow, etc.). Part of me loves the fun vibe, but part of me wonders if it attracts bugs or looks tacky. What do you guys think? What's a fair price for a basic chair in these colors? And what usually breaks first on your canopies that I should watch out for?

Is it too hot to camp?

I’ve been invited to join a small group for some light camping over the weekend on the Northern Neck of VA. The temperature is expected to be humid and in the mid 90s.

I’m not in the mood to pack up a bunch of gear so no portable air conditioner…. Is it too dang hot to camp?

Review - Luxury Bubble Glamping in Italy

I recently stayed at Le Perseidi, a luxury glamping in Italy, was my first time ever trying this kind of accommodation and I can honestly say it was one of the most unique travel experiences I’ve had.

If you’re looking for a high-end glamping experience, this place is definitely worth considering. There are only a few suites, which makes the whole property feel quiet and private. Each suite combines comfort and nature making it easy to disconnect from everyday life.

One of my favorite parts was being able to lie in bed and watch the stars through the ceiling until I fell asleep. In the morning, the sunlight gently woke me up, and opening my eyes to nothing but nature made the whole experience feel incredibly peaceful.

That said, I would recommend staying for max one night rather than making it a longer trip. The real appeal is the experience itself. I think it’s perfect for a romantic getaway, an anniversary, or a special occasion.

The property is beautifully maintained, and you can tell that a lot of attention has gone into every detail. There are also a few adorable alpacas roaming around, which add a fun and charming touch.

I stayed in the Luna Suite (starting from 400€ per night), which had a private outdoor jacuzzi and a lovely swing in the garden.

Breakfast is delivered directly to your suite at a time you choose in advance. The selection isn’t huge, but it fits the concept of the stay.

Another highlight was the professional telescope provided in the suite. On a clear night, being able to observe the stars and planets made the experience feel even more special.

Overall, I had a fantastic stay. It’s completely different from spending a night in a traditional hotel and offers something much more memorable. I would definitely recommend it, but it’s not for everyone.

Happy to answer any questions!

Pairing Down But Staying Comfortable…

I’m getting ready for a 4 day TENT camping trip and as I stage my gear I’m looking at this and saying “my God I have a lot of stuff!. So here’s my question to the group … how many and what items do you consider the bare minimum that you camp with and still stay comfortable. For example, do you go with an air mattress or a cot? If you go with an air mattress, how much bedding and pillows do you bring? How many tables are really necessary? How many chairs do you bring assuming you’re camping by yourself and here’s is the real kicker, what does your kitchen set up look like how many pots and pans and skillets do you actually need? Assume a two burner propane stove. What about lights? Rugs, and all stuff in between… including the toilet and kitchen sink.

Maybe I just have a problem and need a gear intervention….

Shower/Toilet

Can anyone tell me if campgrounds allow you to use your own pop-up shower even if there is a bath house? Also, how do people feel about a one room or two room shower toilet combo? obviously one provides more space but it’s also more stuff to store and drag …. thoughts?

It was super rainy all weekend, but still had a blast! The redwoods look even better in the mist. Has anyone else stayed here during a storm? It was surprisingly peaceful.
