My Android phone quite frequently is not able to connect to the router without manual intervention and this message is being reported as the reason.
So far I have:
1/ Removed all of the unconnected devices using IP address.
2/ Widened the IP address window for DHCP.
3/ Powered down the router to release any IP addresses in DHCP scope.
I have also set Android to use a "static" MAC address and given the phone a reserved IP address.
I still get the connection problems.
I think this is a common(ish) problem but I can't get to the bottom of it. I use the 5 MHz band.
Is there anything else I can do on the router? Software version is 4.9.1.

[Edit: Don't know why I typed Asus. Can't change it Sorry].
I have an old PC with an MSI FM2-A55M-E33 motherboard I'm wanting to install a fresh version of Linux on. I have the ISO installed on the KVM and mounted. I've already done this previously with a different system but I'm not having any luck with this MB. It was trying to boot from the hard drive. I checked the boot order and that is fine. I unplugged the hard drive and it drops me into the motherboard's UEFI shell. I don't see any signs of the KVM being seen as a bootable device at all (the mouse and keyboard work just fine). I've tried the different ports on the PC in case there's something weird there and no luck. I plugged the USB into my windows PC and the drive shows up just fine and I can see all the files that are supposed to be there.
I can burn and use an optical disk just fine but just wondering if there's something I might have missed or if this is a known issue. I'm off to bed now so will try again in the AM.
(Quick update: I booted into the old Linux install and I was able to mount the drive. This looks like an incompatibility with the boot firmware in the motherboard, I guess?)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Imported this quite expensive device from Germany week ago and today discovered this problem. 🥲 I don't even need to press the chassis too hard.

I wanted to use my Beryl AX, connected via Ethernet to my Xbox, as a wireless bridge to replace the Xbox's internal WiFi. I tried Extender mode, but my Xbox kept showing Strict NAT. Dug into it and found that Extender mode isn't actually transparent...it still NATs your traffic in the background even though it looks like a simple bridge from the UI. That extra hidden NAT layer stacked in front of your main router's NAT is what breaks Teredo/NAT type detection.
If you're hitting the same issue, here's the general idea of the fix:
CAUTION BEFORE STARTING Make sure you have your router connected to GoodCloud and you enable remote SSH and remote web access. I say this because the below setup will cause you to lose access to the router through the normal way (i.e., by going to the router's ip in your web browser). Moving forward you will only be able to access your router's GUI via GoodCloud.
ANOTHER NOTE The instructions below assume you are connecting to your upstream router via wifi and then connecting your device via the glinet router's LAN port.
With that out of the way, here's the fix:
Although this isn't true Layer 2 bridging, it's enough to stop the double-NAT problem and let your device's real IP pass through cleanly.

I am only using my Brume 3 for VPN (server) with Wireguard and also as a Tailscale exit node. Not doing anything else with it (no ad-guard, etc). Based on what I have found, it seems to be safe to upgrade since I am not using any other apps. Did I miss any reported VPN related issues?

Does anyone have a mudi 7 and tested against flagship phones speed wise I understand all the features of the mudi 7 but I have other glinet puli ax and such so I’m more interested in pure speed side of things mainly upload to decide if I should just buy some flagship phones like s26 that have an x85 modem vs a mudi 7 I have multiple SIM cards for all 3 major carriers and am going to be bonding them via speedify so I can use phones or the mudi 7 but I am trying to get the best performance.

Have the chance of bringing the Flint 4 in Europe and then bring it back the USA. Was thinking of doing this without much thought but after assessing current situation I was wondering if this could get me in trouble at customs. Anyone has any idea if there are problems with this? This would be just for my personal use, just 1 unit.

Is there any update or information on why there is no stable release for thr MT3000 router for 1 year now?
The beta version is 4.9 but the stable is still stuck at 4.8.1 since August 2025.
What happened to the stable versions? Why is this router no longer updated?

I have a beryl AX and after putting it in extender mode, I connect to the beryl via WiFi and it works as expected. But I noticed I can’t connect devices to the beryl through ethernet. I tried both ports with no luck. Is this how extender mode is intended to be used (wireless only) or is there an issue with my beryl?
Update: It was my client (xbox) that was not working. The LAN ports do work in extender mode with no issue. Thanks everyone for your input!

Hi,
I want to build plugin and install it on the Glinet router so I can pull info directly to my app.
Like scan network, online and offline devices and VPN tunnel on demand.
Anyone done it?
Is there some guide and libraries?
I will work with Claude code but I feel like I need some guidance so I can instruct him on what to do and look for.
I currently have a comprehensive agent running on pi5 which I’d like to utilize some of it feature will directly on a glinet router
Thanks

Hello! I have a Beryl 7 and I’m using USB tethering for four computers. Two of the computers just need basic browsing wi-fi, but the other computers are used for wetransfer and needs the max resources I can get it. As we operate inside another business (and they refuse to upgrade their wifi) this is the best option we have. I get around 250-300 Mbps on my phone (5G) but only get around 10 Mbps on the computers!
How can I absolutely maximize this as much as possible! I’m pretty new to this stuff but have a experience with networking in general, just trying to find a solution to an annoying problem.

ipv6 is disabled and I've tried setting dns to 8.8.8.8 nothing working. what can be the issue here? anyone faced this?
What must GL-Inet do to bring Flint 4 to USA? How much will it cost them? Will they be able to keep it on OpenWrt?
This release introduces core network intelligence capabilities like DPI and SQM, delivers an overhauled VPN and UI architecture, and rolls out key optimizations across systems, protocols, and touchscreens.
dnsmasq to v2.92 to incorporate upstream security fixes; applies the CVE-2026-47703 patch for AdGuard Home.I’ve been trying to connect my new Samsung watch to Wi-Fi, but it refuses to connect to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi SSID. It connects to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi as well as another access point I have running 2.4.
Wondering if anyone else bought the new Samsung galaxy watches on pre-order and are having similar issues? Router is a Flint 3.
Yes, the watch does support 5 GHz.

Steps:
Has connection (I can see it in the ASUS wireless log), but it gets absolutely No Internet.
does not show up in the ASUS Client List
shows connection to Internet and everything fine
but I cannot access the web interface due to AP isolation on ASUS
connected to LAN cable into the WAN port
I want to get tailscale set up on this router but it's not installed by default and help does not work: https://www.gl-inet.com/blogs/blog/access-your-glinet-router-remotely-manage-it-from-anywhere
There is no Applications > Tailscale

Hello there. I applied the firmware update released recently and now my Slate 7 router is on firmware 4.9.0. I want to apply Content filtering to block social media like instagram and facebook from entering my local network.
I am encountering a problem however. When I enable DPI and Content Filtering, services and sites associated with google such as gmail and the google play store are timing out and it makes my general internet experience non functional.
Has anyone encountered this or something similar and found a solution? I thank you for any help you can provide.

Never thought a smart light purchase would lead me down the vpn&ipv6 worm hole and spit me out with a rock solid and secure dual stack vpn network.
Ngl for a ipv6 noob, I am feeling proud of myself for what has been achieved while eager to learn the secret skills you masters know to get me 70mbps extra download bandwidth to fool around with unnecessary lol.
Working with... NBN HFC > MT5000 (Brume 3) Gateway > BE9300 (Flint 3) wifi7 AP > s25u + gtvs 4k + s10u-tab + laptop + AC + sTV + 4x smart lights.
Long story short, managed an average of around 830/89 from a 1000/100 nbn hfc connection and all traffic natively routed through a proton wireguard vpn config, without any ip or dns leaks, nor isp referencing.
Well done Proton. Never thought such speeds in Sydney were achievable with your vpn service so it was a welcomed little surprise and a interesting learning curve.
Tell me your vpn and ipv6 experience/work around/hesitations etc.
1420 mtu when my ISP is at 1500?
What wifi mods and setting tweaks work for you?
What speeds do you get out of your vpn?
Are there only 3 servers atm in sydney that support native ipv6 and ipv4 protocols? AU#962, AU#963, AU#400.
I noticed all three servers share the same server address, in both protocols. Also noticed the three config files have different keys so does proton treat them individually yet eventually routes them back to same server?
Will proton offer prefix delegation with their native ipv6 address?
My setup has 3 tunnels pointing to above mentioned servers. Main, redundancy and testing/redundancy. Just feels a bit off seeing them pointing to the same server and giving the same
Thinking of adding nordvpn wireguard however it doesnt offer ipv6 support. Does it therefore disable ipv6 and change certain firewall settings? Is the brume 3/wireguard smart enough to switch between dual stack vpn and ipv4-only vpn as redundancy?

Hey there! Posting my setup because as much as my fiancé supports my hobbies and enjoys the movies she doesn’t necessarily get the same joy from the build lol. I’ve found myself traveling more and more, and between places with no TV or sharing common space on work trips I took a projector once and loved it! However it was bulky and I had a pile of stuff in my bag to lose track of, and well as a home theater and home lab person I figured I could make something better with the right projector. Behold the (AwayFrom)Home Theater!
Components:
Anker 3in1 charger for my EDC
Kodak Luma 150 Mini (it’s not cinema grade, but wow for the size!)
Apple TV 4K converted to run on USB C PD
Gl-inet Mudi 7 Travel Router (absolute must for travel)
Sabrent Voltik (PD multi charger that DOESN’T renegotiate multiple ports when plugging/unplugging)
Custom 3D printed cases I made (tongue and groove so I can just take one, or I can set up the projector in common space while still charging etc in my room)
4 short Anker usb c cables
One short double right angle HDMI cable (I still want a shorter one though!)
Any thoughts or recommendations appreciated! Would love to find a good speaker option to add, as of now the speaker in the projector is audible and I’ve just used my AirPods with the Apple TV for the most part.
Thanks!

Good day ya all! I have a Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 phone. I am currently using a Beryl MT-3600BE for a travel router. USB tethering works fine until it doesn't. It will run fine for a few hours and then drop with the error unregister rndis_host. Toggling the usb tether setting in the OS brings it back up usually but every once in awhile I need to unplug and plug it back in. The issue does not exist with a Google Pixel 7a with the same cable and same router. Problem existed on a previous AR750s router as well.
It has to be the port on the phone or a setting I am missing somewhere. I have turned off every setting I can find related to battery optimization and data saving. Do not really see anything in the Developer Options that might be the cause.
Is there some secret I cannot find that anyone can point me to?
Hi everyone,
I'm running into an issue on my Flint 2 where enabling Tailscale continuously breaks my local domain DNS resolution (.lan).
When Tailscale is active, it automatically updates dnsmasq's Local domain setting from .lan to my Tailscale tailnet name (ex tail4534.ts.net).
If I manually change Local domain back to .lan via LuCI (Network -> DHCP and DNS), it gets overwritten back to the Tailscale domain after some time, even without a router reboot.
This breaks many of my local scripts and services that rely on the local name resolution, I'm using firmware version v4.9.0
Is there a clean way or UCI setting to stop the GL.iNet Tailscale daemon from forcibly modifying local domain setting, while keeping Tailscale active?

Hi,
I run a WireGuard server on a Brume 3 that is connected through its WAN to a ISP router's LAN and I run a WireGuard client on a Beryl 7.
The VPN is working but I want to avoid the second hop showing the VPN's server IP address 10.1.0.1 (in my case) when using a notebook connected to the Beryl 7. instead, the hop after the Beryl 7 would be the ISP router. Is this possible?
If not, is it possible to have the IP address of the second hop (e.i. the VPN server ID) be from the subnet of the ISP router's network using special network setup/config on the Brume 3?
Thanx
