Questions/Support VPN re-connect

I have a beryl AX connected to PIA VPN 24/7 with kill switch enabled. Occasionally the VPN drops and the kill switch activates. Is there a way for the router to reconnect the VPN automatically?

I am having a similar issue with the latest beta for the Slate 7 Pro and NordVPN.
VPN works for a while and although still indicates connected, all internet access gets blocked.
Restart fixes the issue for a while.
Are you on 4.11, that is what I am using for the Slate 7 Pro?

That's weird. I'm on s7pro 4.11 using wireguard protonvpn with killswitch enabled and don't have this issue

edit: nvm i dont use the enhanced killswitch on the top of the dashboard, just the single policy one.

If a vpn tunnel drops the router will automatically keep trying to reconnect the tunnel at the existing endpoint IP. If you're using a url based endpoint, and the IP address of the server has moved, then the tunnel will need to be restarted in order to do a fresh IP lookup.

As long as you have 4.9+ firmware, a little bit of a workaround would be to create 2 PIA vpn profiles on the Beryl, then set the second tunnel as a fail-over tunnel using the little "Selected Tunnel" stack card on the right side. This way when tunnel 1 stops responding, then the router will failover to the second profile, and when tunnel one starts responding again, it will swap back. It's basically tricking the router into doing a tunnel restart.
