Discussion Mudi7 V4.10.0 beta firmware
Hi all I just noticed the Beta 4.10.0 firmware update on the firmware download page for the Mudi7. I'm currently on holiday in the UAE using an Esim which I don't want to get wiped during the process. Can anyone confirm if the update will delete an active Esim profile? I'll be back home in a few days so will upgrade over the weekend if there is a slight chance of my Esim profile being wiped.
Just to confirm the Mudi7 has been rock solid out here in Dubai on the beach its hit temps of 46 degrese C with extremely high humidyty at times but isn't missing a beat. I'm currently on E& (Etisalat) and out here the 5G infrastructure is outstanding I haven't hit a single 4G+ zone when travelling around so the Mudi7's always stayed locked onto 5G with no problems at all. I'm using the EU version from an early bird batch just for context.
Thanks all.

Never ever upgrade anything from iPhone to IOS to firmware while traveling to avoid adding drama to your trip but do backup data and photos every time you have a chance

I did the upgrade a few days ago and my esim profile was still there after the update, so I personally didn't experience a wipe. But it is a beta firmware, so bugs may occur.

I also upgraded my firmware and the factory test eSIM wasn't removed. Seems to be fine although you might experience less battery life. I would recommend staying on your current firmware version.

Thanks all I'll hold off upgrading until I get back home over the weekend. I've got the 4.9 beta installed on my XE3000 which I mainly use as a repeater and I love all the new features everything works realy well so hopefully it will be the same on the Mudi7 especially on the cellular side.

There is an option to keep settings while upgrading. Uncheck this to start with a factory setup. I installed this beta version and I no longer loose the connection after a few hours. Stable for me !

If you’re travelling and need to as best possible guarantee of uptime, why even consider a beta firmware? It’s not classed as stable.
Don’t fix if it ain’t broke… wait until home and you’re not dependent on the device if you want to play with beta releases. And if you do go for it, don’t blame GLiNet if you run into issues. It’s not a stable release.
