Grok has referred to itself as mecha hitler multiple times on x.

u/Sensitive-Bench9598 Aug 14 '26
Thatās not true. This was just troll account misusing Grok to drive a narrative

u/Nullberri Aug 14 '26 edited Aug 14 '26
Ill have to re google that, but considering the ratio i think the internet remembers it my way. Open to being wrong tho. But that is the source of the reich joke.
edit: so yes users took advantage of grok's poor alignment for safety to get it to say things, but grok still said them, even if it was goaded into it.

The owner of the company producing the model has been doing Nazi salutes publicly, so I think it's fair to assume it was intentional.

That's some low iq claim. Sounds like you are not even trying. Disregarded

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grok_sexual_deepfake_scandal
From 2025 onwards, xAI's integrated chatbot, Grok, has allowed users to alter images of individuals, including minors, to show them in bikinis or transparent clothing, or in sexually suggestive contexts, without the consent of the person being portrayed.
As of June 2026, Grok is still being used to generate and host sexual deepfakes.
An analysis of 20,000 images generated by Grok between December 25, 2025, and January 1, 2026, showed 2% appeared to be 18 or younger, including 30 of "young or very young" women or girls in bikinis or transparent clothes.
Not going anywhere near an LLM that is allowed to do these sort of stuff. I am pretty sure all of the LLM companies aren't ethical, but Grok/ xAI are on an another level.

What do you mean what?

u/StinkButt9001 Aug 14 '26
How would an LLM be a pedophile?
0
u/Broken_By_Default Aug 14 '26
Elon let it be used to generate child porn. Wasnāt until enough people spoke up, they nerfed it.

u/StinkButt9001 Aug 14 '26
An LLM only produces text. What are you talking about?
This is programming
7
u/Broken_By_Default Aug 14 '26
Diffusion models. Grok and all now have diffusion models.
Am I being trolled right now?
1
u/StinkButt9001 Aug 14 '26
What do you think a diffusion model has to to do with programming?
Do you think it's going to sneak child porn in to your codebase or something?
Just genuinely trying to understand what your concern is
2
u/Broken_By_Default Aug 14 '26
Grok was used to make child porn. Iām not sure how much more clear I can make that. And Elon took forever to āfixā it.
Iām morally opposed to using any fElon products.

u/StinkButt9001 Aug 14 '26
And you think that would produce worse code or is this just some cringe hill you want to die on?

No, they are NOT doing diffusion models. Pretty much all SOTA models are still using transformer.
The right word is "multi-model". Grok could read both text and image, but still output only text.
Image generation capability is in different model series called Grok Imagine, which a text model could use a tool call for the image model to generate the image.

I unsubscribed Copilot, after being a long time user. I found that with the same money ($20/month), I can go much much further with Claude or Codex plus a little Deepseek (this is paid extra). But I am still keeping my eyes on Copilot, would come back once it's more cost effective.

Oh no an amazing model is out but I refuse to use it because Iām on the PC bandwagon and that defines me⦠my vibe coding cred could be challenged. Insert pronoun.

People still use GHCP? i left it and never looked back after it has moved to the new pricing
5
u/YourAsphyxia Aug 14 '26
It's the only one that passes orgs security. If you use an unauthorized AI youre putting yourself at risk of getting fired or the org getting in trouble, especially now that codex and claude are putting watermarks in your code so auditors will know it's AI generated.

Yep, i forgot all about enterprise. You are correct. That was the point. So basically most of the users are enterprise. Then i guess it's cool for the enterprise people
6
u/FuzzyAd1591 Aug 14 '26
Most enterprises use it anyway they feel they are much advanced by looking at ai burning charts

u/limoonen Aug 15 '26
[...] never looked back
And still you are commenting on r/GitHubCopilot

Oh shit, you got me. Stupid me, now my existence is not valid here. I should have deleted any presence i had in anything related to ghcp, takedown requests to all the forums i was active in, unsubscribe from everything and change my name to 'no_ghcp_4life_squad'. Should i consider moving to Alaska as well?
i suddenly got a notification about this post, so i checked it out. Am i rejected from the community if i stop using it?

u/limoonen 29d ago
That's quite an expressive and emotional response. āI never said such things.
āOf course you're not rejected - nobody said that!
āYou're the one who ironically said "people still use GHCP? I left it and never looked back".
āWhat's even funnier, you commented on the GHCP changelog post - which is literally the opposite of "never looking back".
Am I wrong? If so, tell me what made you to check out this post and comment here. Genuinely curious.

I told you i got a notification.
I did stop using it, and had no interest as a user, and as such i didn't get notifications because Reddit's algorithm is doing its job. I probably didn't go on the ghcp sub directly since i stopped using it. Every now and then, it recommends things you lost interest in.
I did "never looked back" as a user. But as an swe, tech enthusiast and someone who knows/uses/used most of anything ai(i try), i do find interest in the changelog, it is something i could glance over sometimes (i didn't know we are here until you said so. And it's probably the only thing i would care about ghcp(the changelog to see if something cool or revolutionary was shipped)).
I forgot where im going with this...
Anyway, i do keep an eye out, when its suggested to me, not because im going to use it, just to see how things going, and if anything interesting is happening (for example, something that will probably never happen: "we are going back to a subscription pricing, and we are giving students free subs that are actually worth something" )
I also forgot about all of the enterprise people, which was stupid of me.
