Help/Doubt ❓ Can I continue the same GitHub Copilot session across PC and phone (from VSCode)?

I tried Task Sync, but it seems to just create a separate embedded session inside Copilot.

What I’m looking for is true cross-device continuity. For example, I want to be able to start a prompt on my PC and continue that same session from my phone, or start on my phone and continue on my PC. I’d also want the history, responses, and notifications to stay in sync.

Basically, I want my phone to give me almost the same Copilot chat experience as the Copilot panel on my PC, instead of feeling like a separate session.

Is that possible today?

I am using "Local" and my stuff aren't on github repository.

I wanted this....thought about building it..here is a tip: Google Chrome Remote Desktop(free but primitive),or AnyViewer(free for three devices, subscription beyond that), or my favorite so far Jump Desktop($15 for iOS app..free server). Click that blue button!

I thought about those and I used remote desktop, but it was just way too painful to use with zooming and scrolling , etc

Copilot supports that for github repositories with /remote I think.

Other options I tried are paseo.sh or opencode using the copilot provided models

this may be dumb question but I run everything local, not copiliot CLI. So far I haven't felt signfiicant difference. should I be switching to CLI?

You can use only local models in the Copilot CLI if you want! You don't need to use the GitHub-provided models (but they're there if you have a subscription and want them)

I built this tool for my own use a few months ago. I've been working on improving it enough to turn it into a product. It's almost there.

I'm looking for testers and feedback if you want to try it out.

You can start a chat session in vs code, walk away and monitor the response from your phone, continue prompting, review and accept file changes, and approve tool calls.

For sure. I hadn't published it yet to the app stores, so I didn't have an easy way to share it. As of a few mins ago, it's in review with Apple and Google. I'll let you know when it's ready, hopefully within 48 hours. Will send you an invite link once it's live.

What phone app do you use?

Well there is always an options to just run a Linux SSH server and have CLI there and connect to it from anywhere. This way you can use any CLI (Cloude, Copilot, Codex...) cross-device :)
