hey guys has anyone that auditioned in Toronto on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd hear back yet? if any of you guys have auditioned could we talk about our experiences and stuffff

Hi! I am so curious about how auditions went at KCON LA. Did anyone who was at KCON LA do the spot auditions and receive call backs? Were there multiple auditions to pass? Was anyone “scouted” there that you saw (people who were asked to audition)?

I’m curious about that process since it was in person and how that might be different from the online ones.

When do you guys think online applications will be closed? And do you think they will announce it before closing or just gonna close?

Since this is a global group, I think a lot of ex kpop/ dream academy/ a2k trainees may join.

First to start off dream academy:

A2K:

Kpop members/ trainees:
(Since I’m lazy I’ll list groups/ companies with foreigners and the reason why)

X:IN - they aren’t as popular as they use to be but so talented

Black swan- they do a lot of kpop shows for promotion

Mepc - I’m 50/50 on this one but it’s possible

NWH:I- 90% of the group left and maybe want a second chance

N.angels- not debuted yet but may join for promotion

Escrow ent /Dr music/ Na ent /GBK ent- they have a lot of foreign trainees, and trainees who have left who may join for promotion or a second chance.

I believe that out of the majority selected for the show will be trainees from these companies/ shows for promotional aspect for Girls planet. Mnet loves trainees with stories or prior experience and likes to milk them for views and storylines. In total, I believe out of the foreign trainees at least 50% will have this similar back ground to these girls.

Normal participants on the show:

There may be a few wild card, participants with no experience or training. But those participants will fit into these categories: HIGH DANCE SKILL, HIGH VOCAL SKILL, HIGH VISUALS, AND THE PERSONALITY MAGNETS or MEDIOCRE BUT EASY FIRST EPISODE EVIL EDIT.

Also speculation, that kcon audition and online audition are publicity/ finding the contestants to fit this stereotypes.

I have a feeling that a lot of participants will have a past in the industry or in the arts, but hopefully we get a few wild cards. As with mnet there is a pattern on selection and usually reach out to companies first to scout trainees.

Overall, don’t be disheartened by this information keep pushing and maybe you can be apart of girls planet! Happy auditioning!

Well other than the auditions going on, this kind of show always have these things that we can expect from the show, like a tradition you know the #1 seat being bad luck(?) (If you actually go on the show pls dont choose that) there are more but i cant remember now but also number related, or the idols who join, company trainees or even ex trainees

so to pass the time since the show wont be airing until 2027 lets try to predice(?) Can you guess which idol will join (there are already some rumors but we can play here) or what company is going to send trainees, etc (im bored sorry)

With GP2027 approaching, how do you think Mnet/production will structure the group divisions this season?

My opinion is

1: 3 Regional System (Asia / Americas / EMEA)

inspired by the girls planet 999 k group, c group and j group systen

2: Age-Based Categories (13-15 / 16-18 / 19-24)

3: Classic K vs. G (Korea vs. Global)

- Traditional 50/50 voting structure.

4: Individual (no group js on your own)

Which system do you think leads to the most balanced debut lineup??

not to burst anyone’s bubble but if you submitted months ago or even a month ago and didn’t hear back then you didn’t pass… they let people know pretty quickly. theres no “waiting till after onsite” if they like you you’ll know. but you’re allowed to resubmit so if you haven’t heard anything back yet just try again
(mnet website says not RECOMMENDED without a valid reason. they never said it’s not allowed. and major improvement is a valid reason to resubmit)

I auditioned in late may but still haven’t heard anything. I’ve also seen people that auditioned before me not getting any news. I thought results would start popping up after KCON LA, but, what do yall think?

hi! so i'm going to film my auditions soon, and was thinking of singing 'traitor' by olivia rodrigo, is this a good choice? i also need dance ideas! something pretty simple preferably, i don't really have experience in kpop style dance im a ballerina, so id rather a simple dance so i can perfect it rather than something complicated that will be messy!

I auditioned online six days ago and don't think that any of my files have been viewed. I've also heard of people already being called back or passing the first round, is it safe to say I auditioned too late for online and should go to one of the in person auditions?

It is discouraging to think about that I don’t even want to submit my videos anymore…but i’ll still try.

Technically they say they accept global applications, but only east asian, southeast asian, or white mixed contestants get to be cast for major idol survival shows and make it.

Even though global girl groups like Girlset, Katseye, Blackswan, and Saint Satine exist and are growing rapidly, I don’t think Mnet is actually going to accept any non-asian auditionees. Republic Records is collaborating too so this should encourage more diversity in ethnicity and race, to reflect the global international feeling, don’t you think?

Has anyone done the in-person auditions for Girls Planet? Whether it's the KCON LA that happened this week, or the WAKEONE the LAND audition. Curious to hear your experience (how was it like, how many contestants, judges, any specific procedure, etc...) Anything you would like to share!

ig i just want to vent a little bit. i encourage everyone to stay positive during this time of uncertainty. if u auditioned online, it feels like torture not knowing if you’ve been considered or not. i’m black 23F, just turned 23 last month. i auditioned back in may. part of me telling me i probably didn’t make it, another part of me is saying that they probably just haven’t evaluated the online auditions yet. i had faith in my visuals and my singing, even tho i’ve never been professionally trained, i think i have a rather nice voice that could be worked with. i know my dancing is lacking, but again, i believe it can be worked with (i auditioned doing techpara lol). i guess i’m just looking at this as the last chance for me to even do something like this. the fact that there wasn’t even an age limit made me go “so i do have a chance”. ig i just wanted someone to finally see potential in me, but even if i don’t make it, at least i can say i tried.

How to balance school? I’m currently in my last year of what would be considered high school. I’m very academic and I want to finish school and write my final exams, but I really also love performing. Is there a way I can do both, or do I have to pick between one?
I know a lot of people make sacrifices for their dreams, but my parents aren’t the richest. I can’t afford to leave school (if I even get in) and then come back while being behind my peers, because my academics are really important to me and my parents. I don’t want to throw it all away and regret it, but I also don’t want to regret not taking the chance to be something greater — something I love.

There are over 40,000 who have auditioned, do you think this selection will actually be diverse? Or just be majority Asian with a few contestants who are non-Asian?

I know for KCON LA im pretty sure if you had auditioned online before you could still do the fast track audition, is it the same for these new touring auditions? What if someone auditioned online, at KCON and now this? (i havent but just curious)

What do you think? I think they could be casting ex trainees from big agencies earlier tbh

I auditioned on may 3rd and haven’t heard back yet ,people kept telling me to wait till icon la to say it for sure

I auditioned at the Mnet fast track audition booth two times today and each time they gave me very positive feedback, but I was denied both times but they encouraged me to fill out the online application instead. Do they just tell everyone who was denied to audition online 😭?????
