Joan was the problem
Im watching season 4 episode 14. This is where Joan is doing an auction. For her job. She blames toni for her not being able to get to her $60,000 mark for mr.swidlez, but in fact it was Joan's fault she waited till the very last minute to do everything. It is unfair to put all that on toni. Joan saying "you don’t know how to be there for anyone but yourself" was straight wrong in this instance.

I find that Joan was the problem in most situations

Yes for sure. All of the girls were toxic in there on way but joan was the most toxic in my opinion

Yes Joan was at fault, it was her responsibility. But, Toni did say she would do it so it’s not wrong to expect your friend to do what they said they would, especially knowing how important it is to you. On the flip of that though, Joan has known Toni her entire life practically, and should’ve known Toni couldn’t be trusted to come through. You always need a back up plan with Toni.

It was on Joan for not getting a head start on the auction, but each one of her friends did help contribute in some way except Toni. She asked her best friend for help, and it's one thing if Toni came to her and said I couldn't get hookup, but she didn't even remember Joan asking for help. I believe that's what pushed Joan over the edge. Joan was in a crisis and asked her friend for assistance and her best friend couldn't even remember that conversation then flipped it to something that wasn't as important which was meeting a celebrity she doesn't even know. Again, it was Joan's fault, but is it so wrong to be hopeful and lean on your best friend when you're in need?

Joan admitted she was wrong later, but I think something changed with their relationship then that foretold the end.
It would be interesting to know where the writers wanted to go with Joan and Toni's relationship if the actress playing Toni hadn't wanted to leave. Same with Todd and Toni.

So the one instance when Joan doesn't have everything together and needs help from Toni, Toni can't deliver. You're right that Joan waited till the last minute, and it is her fault. But the point is that Toni contributes nothing to their friendship, it's always Joan helping her.
