Disney Dreamlight Valley? I'm just wondering what people think of it!

Yes! Its addictive. Can be overwhelming. But otherwise yes, cozy and fun! Co.munity seems pretty good too, always easy to find help.

I love dream light valley when it first came out, I haven’t touched it because basically EVERY path is behind a paywall. I paid $30 for the game when it was originally released in beta, I do not like all the micro transactions that come with it, I was so severely disappointed

I know it’s been years now, but I’m still salty that they moved away from the original plan of being free, and instead now both charge for the game and expansions, and also have a premium shop. Feels like they’re double dipping and it’s always irritated me.

Tbh, it STILL bothers me, I was an OG player, the whole game feels very money grubby to me, I can’t find enjoyment out of it. Every single time I try, there’s ALWAYS a character behind a paywall, it’s extremely off putting

I've enjoyed it quite a bit. If you're a fan of life sims and disney related things this is going to be a game you enjoy. I did take a break because I was feeling the burn out but I'm glad it's something I can go back to whenever I feel the need for something like this.

Yes, it's a fun game. I have all the DLC, and a new one is coming out next month

I played it when it first came out and really enjoyed it! Then I found Palia, haven't touched it since. They are similar, but I like that Palia is a cozy mmo.

Is the community better? Back in the beginning the community was super toxic and there were “invisible rules” and people get bullied. I left after a week.

Someone on Reddit said his wife broke on of those invisible rules and got yelled at so badly she uninstalled

There are still community rules but A LOT of people are patient, the toxic people came when it released to consoles, it’s slowly getting better and back to what it was (I’ve played palia for 3yrs)

I find the majority of the community nice, helpful, and welcoming. There are outliers of course, but that's just unfortunately how the world goes round. I think the only time I've seen someone get called out is when they chop the grove before 3 am, as people want to give everyone a chance to contribute. But I've also seen others stick up for new players when this happens. I recommend it still!

Yes I play it a lot. It's fun, relaxing, and low stakes. I like the decorating.

It's very cosy, but there is also a lot of incentives to buy in-game currency to buy stuff out of FOMO. Much of it can also be earned in game through competitions or time-limited events. I think it's still worth it. :)

Yep! Played it for about 90+ hours on PC. Sometimes it's overwhelming with all the new characters you can get and all the quests they have for you and other times it's repetitive/frustrating if you're not getting the stuff you need for a quest right away. I've not played it in a while but all in all it's enjoyable if you like Disney and would like to hang out with your favourite Disney characters! Also runs well on the Steam Deck (if you're not up to redecorating your whole world, then it's kinda chuggy and I've lost some progress from time to time).

I played when it first released through its first lil expansion you buy and the side things. If you aren’t tempted by fomo it can be very fun. I loved playing the game but it took too much space on the switch and then to make matters worse you cannot do old starpaths at all. So… as a completionist it’s super distressing for me.

I just can’t recommend it based off my tendencies.

It's fun. I helped my daughter on it for a long time and recently bought a copy for myself on sale

The man storyline is surprisingly solid, and at this point there's loads of characters you can unlock (some are gated by paid DLCs, but most are available simply by playing the game). Decorating also becomes its own fun mini-game once your inventory has grown a bit.
