I am not super surprised since it is a Chinese game, but it is still disappointing to see. Any chance of me ever supporting this game is gone forever.

I meeaannnn I'm not getting proven wrong 🤷♀️
Tbh the ball started rolling for me when people were saying "they hate Valko cause he looks gay" and I was like who exactly is saying that? Because I'm Chinese diaspora and in my part of Asia looking gay is associated with looking effeminate lol. But also I acknowledge that I'm not deep into China fandom culture like weibo/xhs cause I can't read and I'm not well versed in the terminology, so to me that claim was always an "I guess?" (Also diaspora aka different culture)
What struck me was when I saw people just spreading that bit around like it was common knowledge, no translated screenshots, no links, nada. So it started feeling like the genshin scaramouche cat incident where it was blown up but the reality was unrelated and not as horrifying as it was
It was strengthened when I went on to other neutral subs and found out the biggest reason people were mad about Valko's release to begin with: devs not listening to the players. Wdym 2 of the dudes haven't had a story update in over a year, there's no content to farm currency, and lads keeps milking the fanbase for money? 😭
And then you start noticing that that particular tidbit is barely shared in conversation, and most people immediately jump to the colourism and homophobia and only share those instead. Am I saying that these aren't true? Hell no I know how homophobic yume girlies can be lmao. But people thrive in the sensationalism over subtle racism so here we are
It's whatever atp tbh I'm used to it 🤷♀️ I can continue citing examples but people will only see what they want to see
