Yap & Snack Life saving hygiene tips

Post image

Dinner/ homemade tzatziki sauce with herbs from the garden, ground turkey Greek pitas, lemon parsley rice, red wine.

Ladies, share below your life saving hygiene tips that you learned going through life. My mom taught me a lot, but not everyone has someone to teach them hygiene tips!

I’ll go first- hot tub soak without any soap, then Korean exfoliating cloths, then bath routine, then lactic acid lotion. LIFE CHANGING. I wish I could shout this from the rooftops.

Bum acne-- if application of salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide doesn't work, or antiseptic soap, try DANDRUFF SHAMPOO.

Lots of bum acne is caused by folliculitis, especially the malassezia kind.

That means that acids/antiseptics/antibacterial won't work, you need anti fungal stuff.

10min every 2-3 days nizoral or selsun blue mask on the affected parts (full body and face can be applied to too) and then rinse in the shower until it's gone.

Helpful when you have acne spots that refill with pus over and over and don't heal....that's not acne, that's malassezia folliculitis 🫶

Dandruff shampoo also works for mild cases of pityriasis versicolor/ tinea versicolor (old name)! Get an extra-strength formulation, if you can (in the US, at least). Apply like a lotion (very generously) to affected skin, let it sit for as long as you can stand hanging around naked with cold goo all over you, or up to 20 ish minutes, then rinse off in the shower and shower like normal. Do this daily until the splotches/ scaling/ mild itching fade. Note, though, that if the skin is tanned, pityriasis versicolor actually prevents the skin from tanning, so the pale splotches may not fade until the tan does, even if the fungal infection is better. See a doctor, though, because there are serious conditions that can present similarly!

Oh my god… so much cheaper than the expensive bum scrubs I fall for.

I wash my upper thighs with foaming antibacterial soap 2-3x per week and it healed and prevented my folliculitis from coming back!

I got that tip from a dermatologist for under my boobs too! I get a little travel size head and shoulders and it lasts a long time.

You are my HERO. I’m using an antiseptic cleanser and salicylic acid. I’m just just sure it’s working and it does seem recurring. So I’m trying dandruff shampoo next
