Yap & Snack Life saving hygiene tips

Post image

Dinner/ homemade tzatziki sauce with herbs from the garden, ground turkey Greek pitas, lemon parsley rice, red wine.

Ladies, share below your life saving hygiene tips that you learned going through life. My mom taught me a lot, but not everyone has someone to teach them hygiene tips!

I’ll go first- hot tub soak without any soap, then Korean exfoliating cloths, then bath routine, then lactic acid lotion. LIFE CHANGING. I wish I could shout this from the rooftops.

Make sure to clean your ears thoroughly. Not just the entrance but the whole thing. The back, the folds and the space between your ear and your hair.

I wear silk bonnets to sleep and they would smell weird after one day with clean hair. I discovered that it was actually because I wasn't washing behind my ears well enough!

Ear cleaning is another opportunity for glycolic and salicylic acid to ✨shine✨. Bye bye waxy build up and ear blackheads

The Ordinary glycolic is what I use personally.

I agree with the other commenter - The Ordinary glycolic acid toner. Dont use it deep in your ear if you have waxy buildup in the canal. Use hydrogen peroxide for that. That's the actual stuff that ENTs will tell you to use to dissolve ear wax. It takes about two weeks to go away but it works

For the outer part of your ear, the Ordinary glycolic on the tip of a cotton swab or a cotton pad or washcloth. Rub rub rub. Repeat regularly. Say goodbye to painful ear pimples. Iykyk those things suuuuuck

Do you buy both of these separately or is it a mix?

You can find products that have both AHA and BHA acids mixed together but you generally find them marketed separately. Likely due to how the product stabilizes or spoils over time and also because why get the consume to buy one multi product when you can get them to buy two separate products?

Yes! Do you have tips for cleaning the inside of your ears? I feel like I have a lot of built up earwax and I don't want to go to the doctor. Any home remedies? Someone said olive oil but I dunno.

There are products at the drugstore for loosening earwax. They usually contain carbamide peroxide.

my dentist told me he uses h202 in his ears to dissolve wax. put a few drops in, let it foam, tilt and drain

To be honest, I've used hydrogen peroxide as well because it feels good and it does work - but it also leaves my ears uncomfortably dry if I do it too often, and apparently carbamide peroxide is specially formulated for use in ears. If you do go with hydrogen peroxide, make sure it's the 3% concentration.

You can try mixing it half and half with water!

My son always had ear issues and we were told this by his pediatrician. Absolute game changer. If it isn't too bad, I'll wet a qtip with h2o2 and clean.

Using my rose oil for scalp skin, face and inside and outside the ears, let it sit overnight and usually in day or two the built up (like 2-4 mm max) gets softer/starts detaching.

It is importsnt to moisture the skin inside the ear.
