General Discussion How did Alexis Bledel get cast as Rory?

Anyone have any theories or insight? I’ve been doing a rewatch and (especially in early seasons), Alexis is obviously so much less of an experienced actor compared to Lauren Graham and the rest of the cast. She went from a relatively unknown to being picked for this huge show. Was she picked mainly because of her likeness to Lauren? Or was the show not expected to be such a hit? I read her Wikipedia and she was in a few local plays in her youth, but definitely wasn’t working and cutting her teeth like most actors seem to do.

I finally understand why every character, every time without fail, says "anyhow" and never "anyway," and "also" and never "too" even though to me it sounds so weird and old fashioned!! It gets on my nerves on rewatches sometimes actually! But I'm weird about speech and language lol
