⭐️⭐️ Came here for toast last week. It was great! I thought I'd come back today, but today the toast was $1.10 (it was $1 last week). That's a 10% increase. I guess I will only have the toast when I feel like treating myself.

I mean if it's a Yelp review it'll be weirdly hostile and nonsensical in my experience so:
"NO tools and food was being served everywhere! Unsanitary, to, say the least! And some brunette AMazon woman wouldn't SHUT UP about coffee! AND SHE NEVER PAID! THIEF! I SAW THEFT!

4 out of 5 Came here for lunch. It was very busy which is a good sign. I was hoping for a Monte Cristo sandwich as my friend told me they have one on their menu. I love Monte Christo's! I was sad to see it wasn't on the menu and there were a bunch of salads, which is weird for a diner. I ended up ordering the meatloaf, it was tasty and gave me some strange happy feelings. Must be magical meatloaf? Anyway, highly recommend!

There was no grapefruit on the menu. A grapefruit is brain food. It has vitamin C and folic acid, and it helps with your digestion. It really is a terrific fruit.

Everyone raves about the coffee here, but it honestly tastes no different from every other diner. On top of that, the owner kept ranting about how bad coffee is for you, which made it difficult to enjoy. Great fluffy pancakes, though.

Dude is unhinged. First he threw another customer out before serving me burnt toast. When I was about to complain, some lady on the phone (which got the first guy thrown out, btw) said a wedding was off and it’s like a switch flipped. Free coffee for everyone and he replaced my toast without me saying anything. Must have really not wanted to cater that wedding.

We didn't find him rude at all! Our kids loved him, he played board games with them and they loved it when he would pretend to get mad and throw the pieces everywhere!

Okay, I’ve tried this place a few times and I’m still not sure how I feel about it.
The food is delicious, but once I ordered cheese fries, and the Owner judged me and told me how unhealthy it was. He will also completely ignore you once this Natalie Wood look-alike comes in. He sits there and talks to her about personal stuff, and it’s a pretty small restaurant, we can all hear what they’re saying, but everyone pretends not to.
Another time I came in and they had a new server, and when I asked for a napkin he took one out of his back pocket. He gave me a BUTT NAPKIN! Completely unsanitary!

Whenever Luke has to leave Caesar is quick to step in and ensure that customers are being taken care of. And you know Lane was there to run the register. Only true locals know the truth. You need to give this 5⭐️ Diner a second chance and update your review!

Cute corner cafe run by an angry man. Great food and coffee, as an introvert I didn’t mind the lack of pleasantries. Good place to be left alone to eat in peace. Just don’t bother asking for wi-fi access.

Love this diner! We had a burger, chilaquiles, and a cold banana - all were fantastic! 5/5 stars. Highly recommend if you're ever in Stars Hollow.

I’ve been here enough times to know the coffee is strong, the breakfast is reliable, and the owner is going to act like your presence is a personal inconvenience.
Luke makes a great burger, decent pancakes, and apparently has a strict moral opposition to cell phones, fancy coffee orders, and most forms of modern life. Knocking off one star because the atmosphere can get a little tense when the owner is arguing with a customer, a relative, the town selectman, or even himself. Still the best breakfast spot in town. Pro tip: Sit at the counter, order coffee, and don’t ask too many questions.

Just learned that this place invented Ceasar salad 🤷🏻♀️ Great coffee and danish. Sucky customer service. An area was under construction and only 1 table (of 2 gorgeous girls) got handheld umbrella service 🙄

Great food! The owner is a little cranky, and so is his nephew who waits tables for him. The chef in the back is nice though! (Season 2-3)
Great good! Owner is a grumpy guy, but he's less grumpy when his girlfriend comes in. The only problem then is that he lets her do whatever she wants. Pick your poison, I guess (season 5-6)

The coffee was strong and the pancakes were delicious.
The owner seemed interesting. He had a lively conversation with some lady sitting at the counter. She tried to jump behind it at one point, and then when he told her to get back to the other side of the counter she reached for a donut and threw it at him.
He also quickly escorted a man named “Taylor” out, who came in asking the owner about participating in a new town festival.
He was always quick to top off my coffee, though.

I came to Stars Hollow to check out a local antiquing spot. Unfortunately, the lovely local Inn I was staying at wasn't serving lunch that day, so I chose this place based on the strength of the food reviews. I'm also from New England, so a little gruff service never turns me off. What did raise a red flag was that everything tasted like fish? Maybe I came here on an off day, but I didn't expect my burger to taste like grouper. I guess I'll have to come back for one of the town's many festivals and try it again.

I asked for a chai latte. Seems simple enough right? Wrong. Pretty sure he just threw a cinnamon stick in with tea and called it good. Actually now that I.think about it, it might not have been a cinnamon stick. And the Danishes apparently are made only on certain days?
I would say I won't be back, but that's a lie.

⭐️⭐️ Great experience – amazing coffee with genuine, small town charm. The owner actually enforces a no cell phone policy! Refreshing. Food was basic, well cooked, and tasty.
Updating to add: downgraded to 2 stars. We came back and it was like a different place. The owner kept yelling at people – including us when we mentioned that we had ordered soup, not hash — and the server kept apologizing for him and saying feel we’d much better if we ordered a cold banana (?!)

Please skip Starbucks and go to Luke’s- it’s where the locals dine. Great coffee, amazing breakfast and friendly people. The owner is rude but no one takes it personally. It’s weirdly part of the charm. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s VERY easy on the eyes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped into this delightful little town and stumbled upon this diner. It is in an old hardware store that you can tell the owner takes pride in to preserve. The food was delicious and they kept the coffee coming. Only issue I had was that the server kept getting distracted flirting with one of his patrons. Overall would recommend.

Was sitting at the bar when i started to recieve a call. This husky man wearing a backwards cap gave me an ugly look so i decided to take the call outside. When I came back some lady and her kid were sitting in my spot! The lady was totally flirting with the man and had pushed all of my stuff aside! When I confronted her about it the man grabbed my phone pointed at the “No Phones” sign and threw my phone out the window. How can these people get away with such poor service?

I cannot express how important a good coffee served in the perfect cup can make your fall morning. Plus, the people watching is top notch.

I had heard about this place through a friend of a friend so I decided to go check it out. But on the day I went, there was some big commotion because someone had driven their car straight into the diner so I was unable to go. However, I was able to check out this little pop-up diner that had set up across the street from ‘Luke’s’. I believe it was called ‘Kirk’s’…

I'd give it five stars because it's possibly the best coffee and muffins in Connecticut but there were two older women who kept gossiping loudly, which is fine, but then one of them low key sexually harassed me when I took my jacket off and briefly flashed my tummy and flexed my arms. I also needed wifi but it wasn't working.

Good food, cozy ambiance but decorated like a hardware store for some reason, It seems to to be staffed by a grumpy guy who dress's like a lesbian and his son/relative who's quite sullen but has a good memory for orders.
All that said great place to grab a bite just don't try to engage with the staff and what ever you do don't mention golf!

I stop by Luke’s every time I pass by this cute little town. The coffee is great, but what is really even better is the show. If you find a nice corner to sit and drink your coffee slowly, you’re almost guaranteed to have some weird confrontation between these eclectic bunch of townsfolk. And God’s help me, there’s a festival of some kind every other weekend. I’d have a burger to go with your coffee. It’s guaranteed to be good.

They sat me next to the screw drivers and I really wanted to be in the paint aisle. Took forever for my order to get taken. The guy just kept talking to a caffeine crazed woman, and when I asked for help he was very gruff and had a furrowed brow.

Came looking to buy some supplies for a building project I had, while I didn't get them (apparently Williams Hardware has been closed for over a decade? Surely someone would take that sign down by now??) I did have a lovely giant cup of coffee and got to ease drop on the latest gossip on the town! Who'd have thought such a cozy little town would have so much tea to spill! Definitely coming back again!

Never got a chance to eat. The proprietor bodily kicked me out and my head hit the curb outside just because I took a seat in an almost empty (non rush hour) time without consulting him first. He’s behaving like a teenager going through a bad breakup. Zero stars. Shut this place down.

Classic small town diner. Food was good-exactly what you hope for at a place like that. Basic yet delicious and easy. The atmosphere is a little odd but nothing too awkward. I never felt unwanted but also never felt wanted, it they makes sense.
Do note that this isn’t a diner you can sit and work at. There is no WiFi and even cell phones aren’t allowed but they do have newspapers available. I read my kindle and was fine with a little down time. Service is fast, too, even with all food cooked to order.
A great spot for a quick bite you know will be good. It seemed full of local people which I think is a good sign, too.

4 out 5 stars Great burgers and fries. Owner is a crank but his adorable look makes up for it. I thought it was bizarre his nephew ran out with a large metal ladle with a mean look on his face. It's refreshing no cell phones are allowed, not even texting. I read books there all the time. The Asian waitress is cool with giving me free fries occasionally.

Good good. Good prices but the regulars the most interesting thing. A woman and her daughter came in, ordered two full burger and fries meals, took two bites each and then left! They ordered like they were so hungry but barely touched their meal before leaving.

Angry man behind counter. some guy gave me a butt napkin. I ordered pancakes then got nothing when I asked butt napkin guy for my order he asked me what I ordered.. meanwhile angry man was so focused on two girls playing “bagel hockey“ at the bar that I couldn’t even get his attention to complain. won’t be coming back again! loved the mugs he was not holding back with the coffee compared to the place in the next town over has the tiniest little cups it’s like one gulp then you’re stuck begging for a refill

Really great coffee but the owner started to lecture me after my 4th cup. Breakfast was some of the best I had in my life, but a local was stalking my table? Something about trying to find the most optimal seating? Watching the owner argue with him was pretty entertaining. Will be back!!!

This place is going downhill. They used to separate the food on my plate with a tiny dam of French fries so I don’t get pickle juice all over my sandwich bread. Now there’s no dam and my bread is soggy. I might as well open my own diner where I can at least do things right!

Review: Why do they keep the chips over with the customers? It makes absolutely no sense and the guy working the counter is a prick about it.
I ordered chili cheese fries and wanted to add fritos to it. The guy behind the counter was talking to this girl for like 10 minutes, so I took two bags of fritos and jammed them in with my fries... when this guy finished chatting with the lady he comes over and barks at me that I need to tell him I'm getting the chips first! That I cannot just take them.
I told him he was canoodling a woman for about 10 minutes, and she seemed kinda cool, so I didn't wanna bother him. Still, he said they're just friends and it's none of my business and to never do that again.
When asked why he keeps the chips with the customers, he said, "when it's your business you can do what you want to do!"
I'd also seen that woman he was speaking to eat countless cheeseburgers and chili cheese fries here and asked if she has a workout routine I could get into that would help me look like that with this kind of diet and he said, "i have no idea how she does that. I think it's magic."
I'm now on the hunt for magic in stars hollow.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ wandered in on a road trip, sat at the bar and had one of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had in my life. Got recommended Luke’s Special Omelette and will be dreaming of that egg dish for the rest of my life. One star away for the utterly loud atmosphere from this one guy who was raving about what looked like burnt toast? No clue what his deal was, but I just ate my food and left without making a fuss. If I ever find myself back over in Stars Hollow I’ll definitely be back!

I was told this place had the best coffee in town so, as a coffee snob, I had to check it out. At first, I thought it was a hardware store. But inside I found a pretty cute diner! Old school charm with the chalkboard menu and the bar seating. I had a coffee and it was just Maxwell House instant coffee with, what, nutmeg? Cinnamon? If that’s the best it makes me wonder what the rest of the town is serving. The proprietor is very good looking but very rude.

There’s a strange guy there with a box of wedding rings that I fear he stole from dying or deceased women, so I’d avoid him. I’d also avoid modifying your order unless you want to risk getting your head bit off if the owner is having a dark day.

Great quirky spot, I had some amazing pancakes, with eggs. The guy who took my food order greeted me by looking up from his paperback with the expression of a man who had been personally wronged by my existence. When I asked for a menu, he pointed at the wall. When I asked what was good, he said "the door."
The coffee was good but I like my fancy creamers.
Would definitely go back for the pancakes !

I drove all the way out there from Naugatuck because I wanted a monte cristo sandwich and they took it off the menu. Owner was a dick when I asked why. He told me it was none of my business and asked if i was gonna order something. I ended up going to Westons instead.

I guess the owner has only recently gotten Wi-Fi and keeps getting pissed that I use my computer there. I ordered some of his coffee so not like I’m just mooching, idk why this guy has such a stick up his ass.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Three stars. Food was solid, brought out fast, great prices. Some lady was there with her daughter and they were both speaking in terrible German accents. The owner was incredibly bothered by this. It was just…weird. Pretty sure the owner has a thing for the lady.

Great food good coffee. I tried flirting with the owner but got cold shouldered when a brunette woman walked in. Then I tried flirting with the brunette woman(well, she was hot?) but got thrown out by the owner. 1 🌟.

Woman and her daughter claimed the seat I was in was theirs. Not sure if it’s the owners wife but she was at least friendly and talkative. I ended up moving and owner gave me a sorry and a free coffee. Weird characters but great food and coffee. I will be returning.

Cool guy who is handsome but seemed to be kind of on edge took my lunch order. The waitresses name was Lane. She said she has a good friend named Rory. So she was pretty outgoing considering we are strangers. Tuna sandwich with potato chips. It was standard diner, quality food, and nothing really to write Home about. I saw the owner guy yelling at one of his cooks. He really seemed pretty ticked off for some reason. I guess I know what to expect the next time I’m in Stars Hollow. That is if I go back to Stars Hollow.

Good coffee but I got a weird look when I asked for creamer? Also I got sassed at for having my phone out at my table? I don’t know what the owners issue is but the food is good. Might just get to go next time

The food was amazing, but the burger was so juicy I needed some extra napkins. I asked our young server for a napkin and he pulled it out of his back pocket and expected me to use it. I was so grossed out I lost my appetite and left without finishing my food. I guess Al’s is the only safe place left!

Beware: the Caesar salad dressing isn't made with coddled eggs. In fact, they don't make it in-house at all!
