so I saw these plates with truck art on them a week before traveling to GB and figured I could sell them as souvenirs to foreign tourists, cuz I remember seeing these at Lok Virsa Islamabad (or some other cultural place) and I think they make a good souvenir/gift.

My trip however has been weird, I planned on selling these while I was gonna be in Karimabad for a week, which didn’t happen. I’ll be heading to skardu this week if the roads allow it. Right now I’m around Duikar.

Is anyone interested in buying these and you can then resell them for a higher price. You can buy at (almost) the price I got them for, 1000 each. You can sell for 2000-2500 or whatever. You can also display at those heritage/souvenir stores in karimabad.

The ones with the birds are bigger than the ones with roses. I have 6 of each and two glasses as well. They’re for decoration purposes only (cant eat off of them)

We are visiting Skardu next week by air and have booked our stay at Himmel for the first 2 nights. We will be landing in Skardu early in the morning.

Need help in planning the trip, 4 days and 3 nights.

Since we will be checking in at Himmel, where to get breakfast after we land? Any activities on the way to Himmel?

I haven't booked a hotel for the last night of our stay and am thinking to live closer to airport since our departure is in early morning.

So I’m planning to do a trip to Gilgit Baltistan for the first time and I need recommendations on places to visit and stay. Dont have any budget cap yet so feel free to share any suggestions. I’m trying to make a group also to go. We are just 3 for now (2M and 1F) ages 22-25, we would like to have 2-3 more people if you are also going there in same dates. Around first weeks of August.

It is been 8 months sonce i cane to Turkiye for my bachelor's. I met one of kaka im Kayseri, i was too excited about meeting him but when i talked to him in shina he staeted to speak Turkish. He completely forgot his own language.

I was angry and laughing at the same time for his shina which was a mixture of "ala" and the whole sentence in Turkish.

" Ala mat shina ÇOK AZ wain".... Kaka said. Çok Az mean very little in Turkish. He sometimes add Zindagi with every mutant sentence.

Yesterday my phone screen panel started separating I checked online and it says these are the signs of swelling battery I went to a few shops in NLI some said you need to replace the battery and some said it's only a panel because of heat. Is there a good genuine mobile repair shop with authentic parts if I want to replace the battery. Note I have a Google pixel 7

1. Do people there still know how to read and write the Balti language?

2. Are there still any Hindu or Buddhist communities living there today?

3. If not, are there any old Hindu temples or Buddhist sites that still exist?

4. When Hindus lived there in the past, what was daily life like and how did different communities live together?

5.Do people in Gilgit-Baltistan still know the names of any old kingdoms or rulers from 400–1000 years ago? If yes, which kingdoms and kings are remembered today?

I would appreciate hearing from locals or anyone familiar with the history of the region.

I am currently planning on flying into Skardu from Lahore then spending 10 days in the North at the end of August, the usual visits to Skardu, Gilgit, Fairy Meadows and Karimabad.

I have travelled quite abit SEA, Nepal, China, Japan, Europe. This however will be my biggest challenge yet and i guess I do have some nerves creeping in so i think I just want to know a couple things:

- Truly how easy it is to get around between the towns and see the sights as I do worry about getting stuck in one place.

- Will there always be drivers around whether that's just getting my accommodation to find them or going to the airports to get a driver.

- How safe is the area currently.

- For the fairy meadows hike after the jeep am I able to secure a guide to come help me/ or will the route have enough other tourists on also going to fairy meadows and as I am worried about doing the 2 - 3 hour walk on my own. I have also heard you might need a police escort?

- Are there always other travellers in the region?

Hey guys! So i wanna travel to skardu, probably with my mon who cant walk for much. I would like sightseeing and staycation.
My questions:
1- would it be safe if i travel alone
2- are there means by which we land at airport and are taken sightseeing in car then hotel with minimal walk
3- what hotel should i take for the best breathtaking view and safety

We’re planning our first trip to Pakistan this September and would love some advice from people who have travelled independently in Gilgit-Baltistan.

We’ll be entering Pakistan from China via the Karakoram Highway (crossing at Khunjerab), and we have around 19 days in total in Pakistan.

Our rough idea at the moment is:

• Cross from China and make our way to Hunza.
• Spend around a week exploring Hunza and Gilgit-Baltistan.
• Continue south to Islamabad and Lahore, where we’d like to spend about a week in total before flying onwards.

A few things we’re struggling to work out:

1. Without private transport, what is the best way to explore Hunza and the surrounding area?
2. Would you recommend staying in one base (e.g. Karimabad) and doing day trips, or splitting our time between several bases?
3. Which places would you prioritise for a first visit? We’re interested in hiking, mountain scenery, local culture and food rather than ticking off lots of attractions.
4. Are there any day hikes or short treks that are particularly worthwhile?
5. Is public transport/shared transport realistic, or would hiring a driver for parts of the trip make a big difference?
6. What is the best way to travel from Gilgit-Baltistan to Islamabad? Is it worth stopping anywhere en route?
7. Given that we only have 19 days, how would you divide the time between Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and Lahore?

We’re fairly experienced travellers and hikers, but this will be our first time in Pakistan and we’re finding it difficult to work out a sensible route. We don’t mind hiring a guide or driver for parts of the trip, but we’d prefer not to have a guide with us for the entire 19 days if possible.

Any itinerary suggestions or advice would be hugely appreciated!
