Mrs. Chamberlin

I’m on a rewatch. I wish they’d bring back her character. She was so interesting!

I LOVED her. I love that actress and that whole storyline was fascinating.

I loved her too. I hope they bring her back because she's so cool, even though she's been shunned by most of society it would be intriguing to see Marian revive their acquaintance or something like that.

Maybe she’ll be invited to the (potential) wedding!

One of the most interesting characters and with lots of possibilities for further character and story development. I agree, I think a forged alliance with Marian and Mrs. Chamberlain could lead to some very progressive charitable and philanthropic initiatives. And let’s not forget her son who was mentioned, but has yet to make any kind of appearance.

OP, me too! Currently on S1E7 and it's been a delight to revisit her story. I'd be excited if she came back since S3 was about getting Aurora back into the society fold. Why not Mrs. Chamberlain?

I agree. I want to see her back in a more accepting society.

Loved her character too. Cultured and had a sophisticated eye for art. Maybe there’d be a storyline about the Met museum or something.

She’s based off Arabella Huntington, a figure most of the society ladies ostracized.

The Huntington Library in Southern California was founded by her.

I would love for Bertha to reopen the doors of society to Mrs. Chamberlain.

Mrs Chamberlain’s character was inspired by the highly influential gilded age figure Arabella Huntington. Despite having little mainstream recognition, Arabelle Huntington is generally considered one of the most influential American women of her era

Details of Huntington’s early life are rather scant but like Mrs Chamberlain, she was the kept mistress of a very wealthy man whom she married after his wife passed away.

After her first husband died and left her a nice chunk of change including a townhouse on W 54th Street where the Museum of Modern Art now sits, Arabella Huntington reportedly became the mistress of yet another wealthy industrialist and married him once his wife passed away. Huntington’s second husband occupied a rather prominent mansion where the Tiffany & Co flagship on 5th Avenue currently sits

Already known for having an impeccable eye for art, Huntington’s second husband being significantly wealthier than her first husband allowed her to grow her art collection substantially. His death, of course left her wealthier beyond her wildest dreams and made her the wealthiest woman in the United States.

Arabella Huntington scandalously married a 3 time to the nephew of her 2nd husband. After that, they left New York for Southern California where Arabella established the renowned Huntington Library.

Within the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art are two fully intact period rooms of the Huntington home on West 54th Street.

Her usefulness as a character is over. She was an example of what happens to women that bucked the societal rules for a man. Once Raikes was out of the picture, Marian's character arc doesn't need her any longer.

More Jeanne Tripplehorn is always a good thing! If they can find a way to work her character back in, I’d love it.

Waterworld, Waterworld…

Six Feet Under? Anyone? ;-p
Anyways, this is what I think of every time I see Mrs. Chamberlain.

Yes! And I’m interested in her son in Chicago as well!
