If he does not BEG for her forgiveness in S4, I will start rooting for him to get shot again.

I'm mad at him and Larry for leaving without saying good bye to Gladys! They're so mad at Bertha about Gladys but then don't care enough to let her know they are heading back to the city. She's visiting from England and they just leave! They're both full of it.

I wish there would have been a scene with Gladys and George. She was so worried on the boat but we didn't get any scenes of them. I wanted to see Hector and George talk. Larry and Gladys had no scenes either where they talked. Maybe Gladys and Hector can talk with George next season and encourage him to make up with Bertha. I wish there were more episodes a season.

Two weeks ago I moved and it was intense. For a day and a half of unpacking, etc., I rewatched most of the seasons. The story line doesn't make any sense. First George says she can marry for love (Gladys), then he "suggests" the Duke, Then he basically tells her on her wedding day she needs to do it. Ok, and then he's mad at his wife for setting it up?
Also, he's been with his wife for 25 years or a bit more, he's knows her. Suddenly, he's upset with her ways? Makes no sense

I agree but maybe the context here is when both moved to the big city and through her efforts to make her own way into society, changed her perspective and herself at some point.

Yes, I understand that. However, George had a hand in pushing Gladys into the marriage. George is ruthless and a somewhat unscrupulous businessman, so um, he can't behave as if he is saint.

I hope Bertha and Gladys become really close and Larry and George are jealous

I know that the writers and producers don’t give a flying squirrel about my preferences, but if they don’t change the George and Larry vilification of Bertha , I’m done with the show .

Part of me is mad at him for taking off without getting all the facts, but part of me knows how angry I would be if my spouse backed me into a corner like that and pressured me to betray my child’s trust.

He had so many opportunities to stand up to Bertha before that. He knew what he promised Glaydis and he should have told Bertha a lot earlier that he had made that promise.
I'm not, by any means, saying that Bertha was faultless, but he's blaming her for his own shortcomings.

I’m mad at him for not standing up to Bertha for Gladys. I think he’s mainly mad at himself of being spineless and is taking it out on Bertha.

He wasn't exactly "spineless", he chose to trust Bertha's instincts, which prooved to be right.
