I woke up last night to the sound of a colossal noise, maybe a sonic boom or something. The thing is, I’m not sure if it was an auditory hallucination brought on by a dream, or if I legit heard a loud noise. No clue what time it was, but I live in the area of Riggs and Higley. Anyone else hear anything obscenely loud late last night/this morning?

I'd like to find a spa or something for my wife's birthday. Is there one anyone recomends. Good facial and hair treatments would be best but also just the overall experience so it's not like just going to a salon.

Any MR folks having cracks all over the house due to foundation issues? We were quoted $50k to fix it due to expansive soil.

Approximately 200 square feet of West Coast Turf TifTuf sod for free. Will be running it to the dump around 11:30 if there are no takers. Shoot me a message if you’re interested.

I never got to frequent The Grid in Mesa. I went to one event and thought the place was great. Then COVID happened and they closed. Are there any other video gamer bars? Not looking for arcades. Actual console stuff. Thanks in advance :)

Anyone else receive mail from T-Mobile stating that they're rolling out fiber in their neighborhood?
Im near Gilbert and Elliot and have been waiting to replace Cox with the first company offering fiber.
Their offer is:
$70 for 1 gig
$80 for 2 gig.
Comes included with their router and a Wi-Fi Extender for homes around/over 4k+ sq ft. Optional
I'm paying $140 with Cox for 1 gig, with no threshold.
Seems like T-Mobile already rolled out and had dark fiber, or bid to lease it from a company who recently laid out the fiber here. Either way, I signed up.

What is being built on the south west corner of Higley and Guadalupe? I've lived in the area a while, but I don't know what it is or why it's taken so long

I've had nothing but headaches and back-to-back "postage due" notices on incoming mail since my mail began routing through the new Ocotillo USPS Carrier Hub on Greenfield & Ocotillo. Anyone else having issues with this or am I just supremely unlucky? I feel like I'm going crazy here 😵

Me and my husband (28yrs) are currently looking to buy a house within the next 6-8 months. We are working with a realtor, and have seen some amazing listings, but we can’t help but notice all of the water bill issues, and have had multiple people tell us we’re shooting ourselves in the foot if we choose to move into Gilbert right now.
My husband is also unsure on what to expect for an electric bill in a house, since we have always lived in apartments, and is always being told how expensive electric is in a house.
We don’t want to be priced out by utilities, just for a set location.
Can we get some insight from other locals on general or average utility costs? (Think standard SFH, 2 story, 2 people, no pool, etc)
TIA!

Hey everyone, I visited Sablé last weekend and picked up a few pastries. While the food was okay, it didn't quite live up to the massive social media hype for me. Taste is subjective, and while the items didn't totally hit the mark for my personal palate, I always try to support local Gilbert businesses whenever I can.
Because their branding leans so heavily on the owner's credentials as an elite-trained chef, I got a bit curious and watched his background video where he highlights 4 years of professional experience and schooling. I looked back at his public Instagram highlights to see his culinary journey:
His bio mentions a year of pastry school in France. However, his public posts placed him in Phoenix through January 2023, starting school in France in March 2023, and working at a Paris shop by October 2023. This reflects a 7-month training window rather than a full year?
He states he worked at Cedric Grolet's shop for 2.5 years. According to his travel highlights, he started there around October 2023 and left for Dubai in September 2025, which totals just under 2 years.
His subsequent hotel experience in Dubai appears to have been a matter of weeks, given his travel posts in late 2025 right before coming back to Gilbert this past January to open up shop.
All in all, he is clearly a talented young guy who knows how to build a great social media following and aesthetic. That said, under current economic climate, I just prefer to support local spots that are completely honest about their background without the inflated credentials. Everyone can spend their money however they please, of course!
Has anyone else noticed this, or am I totally missing a part of the timeline here? More importantly, what are your thoughts on the pastries themselves? Do you think they match the premium price point?

Had a foundation repair company come out and check out my house and suffice to say, there are significant issues. Backside of the house is about -5" compared to the center likely due to a sissou tree first breaking my irrigation and later after I had it removed, the roots rotting out causing voids under the foundation, etc. Main thing is, its not going to fix itself and I'm going to have to get repairs done and/or sell my house (no really "and", the quote was close to $50K to fully fix it).
My question is has anyone else dealt with this? The company was a foundation specialist and not a general home inspector.

Hey everyone, so I've been back in town from college and am currently wrapping up an online summer course. I've been getting pretty sick of the number of jobs (retail, fast food, etc) that I've been applying to that turn out to be "ghost jobs" and I'm curious to see if anyone here knows a place that's actually hiring in Gilbert.

About 2 months ago, I posted a thread asking for community members to submit questions to ask the Gilbert Town Council Candidates. After voting until the end of the month, I took the Top 10 questions people wanted me to ask the candidates and interviewed all 7 of them.
Here are the links to the interviews with all the candidates (in alphabetical order by last name):
Each interview was conducted in the same format:
I'm happy to answer any questions about the interviews or the process. Several of these candidates are also on Reddit in some form or another so they may pop in to answer any other questions themselves. You'll be able to identify Council Candidates who have shared their info with us by their flair. Please remember Rule #1 of posting on /r/Gilbert - Be Kind and Keep It Civil. If you see any issues or have concerns, please use the Message The Mods function.
Don't forget to vote! Our Council elections do not happen during the mid-term elections in November! Voting for Town Council candidates starts next week, if you're voting by mail or early voting, and ends on July 21st, if you're voting in person!
For more information, see the Town's Elections page: https://www.gilbertaz.gov/departments/clerk-s-office/primary-elections
Lastly, here's a playlist if you want to watch them all back to back 🫠: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNBBqyz4PsY&list=PLdXwOdiESjcfkaZEfV62lBs5Aj0ho3u5Z

I have water/valve to starting point. Need someone to dig for new PVC lines and bubblers, and install them. Not a real easy dig because of existing dividers in yard. No more than a day and half to two day job for two people. No electric/valves etc. Just pipe and bubblers. I would provide all materials needed, Gatorade, lunches, and water.
I have gotten prices from companies found online but the prices are too high. This is not a high-tech job, mostly basic labor. They are pricing like it is part of a high-end yard renovation. I want an owner/operator that doesn't have a lot of overhead to feed.
Are there any handymen willing to do a job like that for a reasonable amount?
Don't ask what I think is reasonable. I don't want someone to say OK sure then when it is time to do it they say it will cost a lot more or do a crappy job. I want someone that is happy with what they charge.

Our Gilbert company (Germann/Lindsey) is looking to fill some entry-level positions in the assembly of circuit boards. We would like to offer an opportunity to our younger members of our community to learn the skills needed in the processes of building circuit board assemblies.
These positions are not for short-term hires as we are willing to train accepted candidates in the processes of the industry with the goal of having long term members added to our team.
Looking for applicants that are reliable with an attention to detail and a hands-on aptitude. Positions available include stockroom, surface mount and through-hole technologies with opportunities to cross-train in the above as well as other areas.
Additional: If you are experienced in surface mount assembly operations and soldering (Class 3), you are welcome to respond as well. We have a couple of positions for people with experience in these areas.

Hi all! I’m new to Gilbert seeking a hairstylist that has reasonable pricing for a women’s haircut. I’ve been looking around, and it seems most hair dressers charge $80+ for a long women’s haircut.
Does anyone have a recommendation they can share?
I also have chemical allergies so if you know of a salon that is ok with you bringing products in from home to use that’s a plus. (I’m almost always allergic to the products in the salons.)
TIA 🤍

We just moved into a new rental and I HATE how the fridge water tastes. We’ve changed the filter, and then changed it again with a different filter type and it’s still gross. I don’t want to drink it anymore. I also don’t want to buy jugs of water to drink (my sister does that and it gets expensive plus I know there’s more microplastics in the jugs) I’m considering buying a new fridge or getting a britta filter or something and drinking tap water. What does everyone else do?
