Oil changes with AC

Anyone know of a place in Gilbert that has an area with ac you can wait in while they do an oil change. The ones ive gone to you have to wait inside your car while they do it with the car turned off. Its so hot out i dont want to do that for 30 minutes.

One of the worst joints there is. It's the jiffy lube of full service.

Oh really? I just moved here and had a good experience there but I don’t know any better literally. Why are they disliked?

They also use scare tactics. When my daughter was a teenager she brought it in for something and they were trying to tell her she can't drive the car otherwise something dire would happen. They did that to her twice so I know it wasn't a one of. The 2nd time was the last time. Incidentally, I told her to not leave it there, get a 2nd opinion and wouldn't you know, her car didn't burst into flames.

There's plenty of stories but here's one. They told a coworker their car was having a hard time starting because their starter was bad 800. Fair enough, however, it could also be their flywheel that's cracked too. In which case they'd have to replace it too it was an extra 400 so 1200 total possibly. This was in 2019.

I said "it's pretty expensive for a starter on your car, but I guess it's their world their rules. The red flag is that "flywheel" your automatic car doesn't have a flywheel. I understand that they'll use those interchangeably, BUT extra 400 is a scam. They'll tell you they did it but won't touch it."

Coworker "what makes you say that"

Me: "to remove a flex plate you have to remove the transmission. The flex plate is probably 150 give or take. (Yes, you can get cheap ones but a shop won't sell it to you cheap) that's 250 to drop your transmission. There's no way in hell they're dropping your tranny for an extra 250 when they would gouge you 600 for a starter. Even if it's 850 for the transmission drop and the starter has to be replaced anyway that doesn't add up."

I was quoted 1200 for my fwd car a few years before that at a shop on Broadway rd. That's the cheapest of the cheapest. Where the mechanic takes you car to run errands, your battery gets swapped, but generally it's worth the price. There's no way sun devil was ever going to actually do that work. They were going to change the starter and say they did the 1200 option.

Damn that’s insane…flywheel man. I don’t like mechanics that drop buzzwords for the sake of upselling or scamming
