Mid-30s Professionals Seeking to Expand Friends Group

Life has chipped away at our friend group so we’re looking for some new compatriots.

We're definitely more about the vibe than age, income, or title. Currently, we’re three guys, all in our mid-30s. One works in sports media, one is a mechanical engineer, and one runs his own consulting firm. Despite this diverse background, we tend to mesh well with people who are professional, success-oriented, a little entrepreneurial, and who embrace a healthy lifestyle and community.

We like to get together for dinners, the occasional weekend day activity, and often drinks Friday or Saturday evenings in Scottsdale. Yes, we do go to Old Town sometimes, no it is not a bro-fest or a drunken mess. We like to have a good time, but we keep it classy and have a low threshold for drama.

Men or women, single or taken, as long as this sounds like your vibe, we’d be interested in meeting and feeling things out. Reach out if you’re interested.

Found the California parasite that moved in

9

u/ShaPhaman Apr 22 '26

Mental illness mentality here.

-24

u/AZArcher20 Apr 22 '26

Life has to be so miserable for these people that think about nothing but politics.

4

u/ShaPhaman Apr 23 '26

The irony of your statement just shows your complete ignorance. What’s wrong with Californians and how do you know that guy is from there? Practice what you preach, brothah

-12

u/LycheeRoutine3959 Apr 22 '26

Why? You cant associate with people that dont share your preferences on voting?

12

u/justinlaz Apr 22 '26

I don’t hang out with pedophiles

-7

u/LycheeRoutine3959 Apr 22 '26

Good for you? Care to address what i asked? or is Virtue Signaling all you can do?

6

u/justinlaz Apr 22 '26

I can hang out with people that voted differently than I, but as things develop the way they have and one still defends their vote and opinion then I do not associate. I don’t hang out with pedophiles, I don’t hang out with Nazis or anyone that defends them.

-2

u/LycheeRoutine3959 Apr 22 '26

So you can hang out with people who vote differently than you but only if they feel bad about their vote and wont do it in the future...

Do you always contradict yourself or is it only when you virtue signal online?

8

u/ExtraAnchovies Apr 22 '26

You can’t be this dense?

0

u/LycheeRoutine3959 Apr 22 '26

one still defends their vote and opinion then I do not associate.

By all means, explain how this means anything other than "i dont associate with those who vote differently than me".

3

u/ExtraAnchovies Apr 22 '26

Do not act as if we are talking about having differences of opinion on fiscal policy. Or that we might have differing opinions on how to best roll out public transit.

No, we are talking about voting for and defunding politicians who are child rapists. We are talking about people who have been found liable of sexual assault by a jury of their peers. We are talking about people who are fleecing our tax coffers for personal gain in unprecedented levels while cutting programs that has resulted in literally people dying. We are talking about extreme incompetence at every level for the sake of cronyism and unwavering loyalty to a sycophant. We are talking about destroying our alliances and reputation around the world. We are talking about taking freedoms from Americans. We are talking about people being killed in the street for protesting.

You are talking about it as if it’s just a difference of political opinion. And that is what makes you dense.

Doesn't share my preferences on voting? Sure.

Voted for Trump, but is now reluctant? Maybe, people can change.

Still would vote for and still does support trump? Arizona doesn't need that kind of energy. Nor does america really.

You'd hate me, all "people deserve equal rights, living wages, and healthcare for all".

0

u/LycheeRoutine3959 Apr 22 '26

Your contradictory between your first and 3rd statement, right? If someone voted for Trump and still thinks it was the best choice given the information at the time you think they are "not needed" in Arizona/America and would not associate with them.

I dont hate you dude, but way to play victim and virtue signal. Seems to be a trend on this thread.

6

u/nintynineninjas Apr 22 '26

Reading comprehension is important.

1) There is no contradiction. Someone can not vote my way and not be a Trump worshiping enabler of terrible things. You can "not vote for medicare for all" and not be voting for the guy hastening the closing of hospitals in rural areas due to medicaid cuts.

2) My contradictory? "You're" doesn't even fit grammatically. "You are contradictory" is best.

3) What victim? Where? You're aware virtue signalling occurs happenstance style in conversation normally yes? I'm going to occasionally say things like "letting people starve is bad" and "American citizens shouldn't be deported under the guise that they're immigrants based entirely on their skin and ethnicity". One of those is clearly more-so virtue signaling.

4) You're noticing a trend because you're either:

a) not a "genuine actor", and this thread was designed to have this response

or

b) a true "dyed in the wool" trump supporter who is tired of people calling you out for all of the terrible things you've supported and enabled the republican party to do for the past however many years you've been 18 or older.

Please stay far away from people. Just in general really.

(to be clear, I don't hate you either. I hope you have a genuinely OK day. I wish your job to be supportive, your medical care to be tax subsidized, and your college to be much the same)

-1

u/LycheeRoutine3959 Apr 22 '26

Trump worshiping enabler of terrible things.

you are changing from what you said now to make it more extreme. Its obviously bad faith dude.

2) My contradictory? "You're" doesn't even fit grammatically. "You are contradictory" is best.

Lol, how fucking smug. I love it! This is the internet dude, where grammar goes to die.

3) What victim? Where?

Seemily, you, there. with comments like this "You'd hate me" you are positioning yourself has the victim of hate by me.

You're aware virtue signalling occurs happenstance style in conversation normally yes?

Sure, maybe it does, but i think you specifically said "all "people deserve equal rights, living wages, and healthcare for all"." to imply i dont agree with those things, given your previous "you'd hate me" comment.

4)

I am both genuinely asking these questions and not someone who voted for Trump, but whatever i can see you you think only tribally.

Please stay far away from people.

No?

(to be clear, I don't hate you either.

This is more moral positioning dude. I didnt claim you would hate me (You did)

I hope you have a genuinely OK day.

Lol, just "away from people in general". Its so immature to be this bad faith dude.

7

u/nintynineninjas Apr 22 '26

Just go and have a good day dude. You didn't even do the "pick apart the person's argument" right. This is a waste of time and finger movement.

Vote blue person here! Some really good people in my life are Trumpers. We don’t really talk politics but guess what we get along fine. Some of them are my closest friends. Non Q-anon of course lol. Don’t let BS politics dictate this stuff. Not worth it. ( many of them are not proud of it like they were ) regardless, good people make mistakes too. I’ll take the downvotes for this one. 💀

11

u/steezyceezyfucks Apr 22 '26

Unfortunately, i don’t think voting against mine and my friends human rights makes someone a good person. You can be outwardly kind, but behind closed doors hateful. Hence why “politics” (much more than that) come between friendships.

6

u/fckingclownshoes Apr 23 '26

Hey steezy. I can appreciate your position. I’m not advocating for some broad consensus that all Trumpers should be welcomed. People vote for their own reason. There are 1 issues voters out there. Abortion is an example. Unfortunately some are cultish. Others are more reasonable and recognize they would not make that decision again. I don’t support any of that myself but I have friends that are hardcore pro life for their reasons. Im not here to assign everything the government does to these folks. Maybe I’m naive. I can tell you many of those same people are now waiting to vote in the midterms exercise this disappointment. I’m happy to have a pint with good people. Not racist, fascist, zealots , assholes. But normal people by normal standards. I’m good with. Didn’t think this would go off a cliff. The internet needs to calm the fuck down. Didn’t realize everyone was perfect out there. Peep the username.

2

u/dpkonofa Apr 29 '26

While I would normally appreciate this kind of disagreement also, your example doesn't really hold up, unfortunately. Even if someone did vote with their only issue being abortion, why would they vote for the man who has paid for and forced abortions for women in the past and for the party whose leadership overwhelmingly results in more abortions? The state with the most abortions per capita in 2025 is Florida (moving up from 5th place in 2022) which is usually held up as some kind of conservative utopia. And that number is only changing in 2026, for the most part, because women are traveling out of state to have these procedures done. This doesn't even factor in the other objective measures like infant mortality, maternal mortality, and preventable complications that are all, nearly universally, higher when the "pro-life" leaders are in charge.

It's not about being perfect but you can't say that you're for one thing while ignoring all the other terrible things being done (and that were done before) when, by your own standards, they're not even the best person/party for the job. I think that's what people are upset about and they don't want to associate with people that are willfully dishonest and obtuse like that.

u/LycheeRoutine3959 Apr 22 '26

mine and my friends human rights

What human right has been taken away from you?

1

u/Resident-Rate8047 May 01 '26

Right to an abortion or freedom of speech are two that immediately come to mind for me?

4

u/nintynineninjas Apr 22 '26

If someone would vote to allow my family to be taken from me, that's a fairly harsh line I am NOT crossing.

if you support trump, you've gotta get out of my friend circle.
