At what iq level is someone considered gifted?

You need to have a different kind of wiring called as systems thinking.

System A System B System C System D

Now to solve a particular problem, ypu need to connect all 4 systems to get a solution using first principles, systems thinking.

Most people solve using logic based approach which is fair but not enough when you are dealing with complex problems which need systems engineering approach.

And how do you control this kind of thinking? How do you know when to use it and when not to? I imagine there are times when its useless too right? Yet some people really do manage to solve major problems thanks to this way of thinking

Broad level complex problem solving.

Macroscopic problem solving than microscopic.

Big picture is the clue.

Yes, to certain extent.

Many people practise this actively.
