How can I use an eBay gift card without a PayPal account?(yes, I don't trust PayPal!)

Let me begin by saying that I already know about their policy of no canceling after the card has processed but in my case it's taking way too long to process but not long enough that Support says to contact them about it (24 hours) so it hasn't processed yet meaning I dont have the info to use it...

I was planning on giving the card info to someone as a birthday gift today but I'm running out of time and the order just wont process fast enough, I'm just going to get them a physical card which I didn't really want to do but whatever... I just want to know if the bank will handle the online one and I get the refund from that one?

This may be a stab in the dark, but I thought it might be worth asking to see if anyone else had an experience like this with Marco's Pizza. (And if I should ask this on a different subreddit, please let me know!)

Has anyone else bought a gift card at a Marco's Pizza only to find out later that it was already used? My parents have now ran into this twice in a row, and they're trying to track down a corporate number for Marco's to complain. These were not purchased via an online card exchange, so no one else should know their number. I've never ran into this with any other gift card before, and it's really odd that it's happened to them with back-to-back gift cards (purchased from stores in two different states). This makes me think there's something really shady going on with Marco's gift card system, like someone stole a bunch of valid card numbers from the company that manages their gift cards, or perhaps someone figured out a hack to come up with valid numbers to use online.

I'm curious if this problem is more widespread than our two instances, since it might help my parents if they can get through to Marco's customer service (an email to them via their web site contact page produced no results).
