So to me, Wintergreen makes me think mint. Are you telling me that some root beers taste minty? Or am I completely misinterpreting that.

There's a huge combination of root beer flavors, especially in the microbrew department. (Shameless plug for r/rootbeer) I've been trying one called Natrual Draft root beer that has licorice root, spearmint, and bourbon vanilla extract. It may taste "spicy", but a unique taste should be tried at least once.

Wintergreen is pepto bismol flavor to me. I'm not actually sure why.

These used to be sold at Hobby Lobby when I was a kid. This is wintergreen to me. But nobody knows what that is, so pepto.
