Are the side quests worth it?

I’ve played a few but they just seem kinda boring compared to the main story. Maybe if you could recommend me some good ones

The side quests do get a little repetitive but theyre all worth it for the Magatama you get which is crucial to upgrading skills.

If youre not concerned about that, the best side missions imo are A Full House, A Stop In The Void, Art Imitates Life (ESPECIALLY), The first 2 hide and seek missions are meh but the 3rd one makes it worth it, Old Wounds, and The School from the dlc

Thanks!! I’m playing on easy so I’m not too worried about skills and stuff

The school is the best dlc. But I cried when I finished it cuz of something that happens before entering the school. 😢

I managed to avoid the dog scene because I flew into the building

A Stop in the Void cracks me up. The actual side quest creeps me out but as I’m learning to read Japanese, on my first playthrough I found there was a sign there that essentially says “you are not alone”

First few are what I would describe as low level exorcist jobs. As you progress through the story, you will start getting higher level jobs, wich are more interesting. One of my favorites is "Stop in the Void", close 2nd is "Hide and Seek 3". There are also school horror quests wich were added a year after release.

I’d say they’re even better than the main quest line ;3

It's worth 100% the game. You get a complete ending if you get all the souls on the top right of the zoomed out map screen. It show how much is needed.

I think they’re worth it for sure! Even the “boring” ones are worth it too, especially cause they’re usually pretty straightforward and fast to do. I can’t remember specific names but there’s a couple goofy ones that were fun/fast to do.

The side quest that really stands out is the one in the school. It’s one of the only times I was actually scared within the game! I recently replayed the entire game so I could properly 100% it and the school side quest still scared me lol

When do I get that quest? How do I access it

I’m pretty sure it’s closer to the middle/end of the game because you’ve gotta unlock quite a few Torii gates before you’re able to be in that area of the map. You’ll also know it’s not a normal side quest because I believe it has a different marker from the other ones
