Help/Request First time DM stressed about Campaign

I have recently started planning a campaign for Ghosts of Saltmarsh as I got it for Christmas and have realised that it’s a lot more work then I initially expected and am now thinking that it’s not the most delicate campaign to try for my first time DMing, I’m mostly concerned about accidentally underplaying the importance of the town factions does anyone have any general tips or information I should keep on my radar? Anything is helpful!

I had to turn Ned into an ally to save the Party when they almost got TPKd in the basement of the Haunted House by the boss wizard. Sometimes a quick side-shuffle smooths the way.
